If you're looking for a genuine escape to unwind and embrace the natural beauty of Bucas Grande Island, Hidden Island Resort offers a unique, albeit rustic, charm. It's a fantastic spot for those who prioritize refreshing swims and peaceful water activities over modern luxuries. The immediate draw of Hidden Island Resort is its crystal-clear waters, perfect for a rejuvenating dip. Whether you're an avid swimmer or just want to float and relax, the inviting sea here is a definite highlight. For the more active, kayaking is readily available and provides a wonderful way to explore the serene surroundings at your own pace. One of the significant advantages of Hidden Island Resort is its capacity to host groups. With accommodations on-site, it's a viable option for gathering more than ten people for a party or a group getaway. The shared experience in such a natural setting can be truly memorable. It's important to set expectations regarding the facilities. The resort, as many visitors observe, has seen better days and shows signs of wear. "Dilapidated" might be a strong word for some, but it certainly indicates a more weathered, less polished appearance. However, if you're not particular about brand-new facilities and can appreciate a more lived-in, unpretentious atmosphere, this won't detract from your enjoyment of the natural environment. The good news is that despite the age of the structures, the quality of the swimming experience remains excellent. In summary, Hidden Island Resort is ideal for the laid-back traveler who values a tranquil setting, excellent swimming, and group gatherings. Come with an open mind, ready to embrace a simpler, more authentic island experience, and you'll find it a wonderfully...
Read moreDisclaimer: We travelled as a family and we only visited the resort on a day trip, on our way to siargao from sohoton (a lovelier place by the way). Since it was on the way our guide told us to take a look in case we would like to stay there in the future. The place was charming for kids as they had fishes and baby sharks in captivity. The rooms though were bare and plain but airconditioned. We stayed for less than 20mins since we just looked around and there was not much to see. ( 10mins of which was spent talking to an acquaintance who was staying there for the night). Imagine my shock when the guy in charge wanted to charge us 50pesos each for...looking around?! Funny but that is not the way to encourage guests to stay in your resort sir, not that we liked what we saw. Fifty pesos is not a lot so I paid right away, but it was embarrassing because our foreigner guests remarked that I should not have paid and spoken up about our rights, etc. I felt foolish for being taken for a ride but I just didn't want to stretch the conversation anymore with the guy in charge. Long story short, we are never going back there and certainly not recommending anyone to stay...
Read moreWe stayed at Hidden Island resort on the second night on our 3-days tour to Suirgao del sur (Tinuy-an Falls & Enchanted River) & Surigao del Norte ( Bucas Grande Island hopping & Sohoton cove). The place is quiet and calm even if we are in a group of about 13 people, the resort is surrounded with small islands which is simply amazing with the contrast between the blue sea and the green islets.||You can jump off the isles and swim all you want on their clear blue waters. Watch the the caged turtles, sharks, marlins, etc. just beneath the cottages.||The accommodation is nice we stayed together in one room, at night we're able to enjoy the videoke bar at the far end of the resort. Our tour guide provided us with the buffet lunch & dinner, although there's a restaurant that serves meals at about P150/head if you want to order, which we did for our breakfast the next day.||We have no problem with water though, they have lots of comfort rooms and water is available during our stay.||Overall, i can say that i would love to visit and stay in this place again.|Bucas Grande is such a...
