This is a very nice small family-run hotel in a spacious modernised historic old building only 200 metres or so from all the amenities in the centre of this very peaceful and genteel spa town in Kujawy in Central Poland.||||The hotel has ample secure parking and a very elegant restaurant. Check-in at reception was quick and friendly and there is a choice of rooms all at very reasonable prices. The en-suite bathroom was fully up-to-date with a spacious walk-in shower and a small bottle of shampoo. At other hotels I have had a greater range of both toiletries and towels available.||||The room itself was large and high-ceilinged with refrigerator though no safe. Some rooms have air-conditioning and some just twin beds so you need to be clear about what you are getting before booking - this was straightforward through bookingdotcom. The style is more traditional dark wood and conservative Central European as opposed to Scandinavian chic but for the price there is no room to complain. Some of the cream paint-work is in a semi-distressed style.||||All staff were friendly and helpful, and it is evident that there is a pride in both the building and the business.||||Breakfast was buffet-style with a cooked, though limited, option. Plenty of choice of cold meats etc for hungry souls and the evening dinner menu offers a good range of meals to suit most tastes. A bar is available and overall there is a good ambience.||||The room key fobs which must be left at reception on going out are very clunky. ||||Ciechocinek is a delightful little town in a primarily agricultural region and is ideal for a restful stay of a few days or for a health cure, but beyond that is better placed as a base to explore the surrounding towns and cities. ||||Sadly there is no longer a regular rail service and the bus service is not very frequent outside peak hours but a taxi to Aleksandrow-Kujawski, the nearest main-line railway station costs around 30 zloties ( £5 or so ) and only takes about ten minutes. From there fairly regular direct trains run to Gdansk , Warsaw and many other cities, but it should be noted that the station is awaiting it's turn for redevelopment and currently presents a very sorry face.||||I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and will in fact be returning in the near future. Special mention should be made of the owner , Grazyna, and Maria, who were both exceptionally friendly...
Read moreHotel Kopernik is located at the center of the city within walking distance from the few attractions the city has to offer.|Despite being in such a remote place in Poland, far from any big city, it is really a world class small institution. Something like "The Restaurant at the end of the Universe". |First of all it is immaculately clean. Even in very high class hotels you might find a neglected corner with some dust covering it, but not here. Everything is sparkling clean everywhere. |The whole hotel has been completely renovated about three years ago, thus all the carpentry and carpets look brand new. |The room we got was of good size and I believe that the other rooms might have been a little bigger. |The hotel has its own parking lot that can accommodate about twenty cars, that should be enough I guess|Included in the room price is an open bar type luxurious breakfast. |The only drawback I have found was the fact that there is no elevator and hauling your suitcases up on a narrow stairway is no fun. |Except for that, this is a highly recommended...
Read moreBooked through booking on the day of arrival. We arrived very late in the evening, which was no problem at all. The owner helped to get our luggage to our room. We wanted a rare three person room. To our surprise it was a spacious three person room, not a two person room crammed with an extra 'bed'. Very decent room. Good shower! ||Breakfast included in a nice room with in the background classical music. Enough choice, even for a vegan.||More than enough parking space, and very near to the Tesla super charger and walk distance from the center of the town already known as spa for ages.||You will enjoy your stay in all...
