We stayed just one night. I hate negative comments and try to avoid commenting if I do not like something, but I have to this time.
The view from the accommodation was wonderful, which we really appreciated. The beds were comfortable with clean linens, and the shelves were practical. We noticed that the window opposite the shower was transparent, though we realized later that blinds could be used for privacy. There was no kettle available to boil water, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, if we hadn’t stayed in the container on the side the window wouldn’t have been able to open at all, so ventilation was possible, which was important.
Unfortunately, the shower and toilet area had an unpleasant odor, and the shower door couldn’t be properly closed. The room was not very clean — the carpets looked quite dirty, and the mirror was also unclean. Soap was missing upon arrival, both in a shower and a toilet). Sure I have my own, but.... We also had some trouble understanding the lighting system, but that was a minor detail.
Additionally, the lady who welcomed us was not very friendly, which was a bit disappointing. She was in a hurry and did not speak proper English and I do not understand Polish. (Sure, my mistake, right? ) One more thing to note is that the website advertises the accommodation as having a “double bed,” which typically means a proper double or matrimonial bed. However, this was not the case in reality, which was misleading
Overall, while some aspects of the stay were fine, there is definitely room for improvement in cleanliness, maintenance, and guest service to make the experience more comfortable...
Read moreParticularly suitable for those traveling by car to the world famous castle of Marienburg. No need to stop at one of Malbork city’s hotels, miserably ranked by most reviewers. The outstanding Biały Dwór is only 31 km from the castle. You’ll stay in a historic manor at the edge of the forest among picturesque meadows, with a wonderful view from its spacious well-kept garden, at very reasonable price. Charming antique furniture in the hallways and restaurant, well-equipped and immaculately clean bathroom, comfortable bed, genuine sincere hospitality of the staff altogether create an exquisite sense of coziness. You will be pleasantly surprised by the quality and diversity of their breakfast as well as tasty and authentic polish cuisine at lunch/dinner time. || It’s worth to visit nearby Kwidzyn to see another well preserved brick stronghold with the most impressive 54-m latrine tower. And I strongly advise to cross the Vistula River by an old-fashioned cable car-ferry (free). || And now a fly in the ointment. The only shortcoming of this charming hotel is the common bane of such places: weddings, anniversaries and other kinds of celebrations. Unfortunately, it happened to us twice a day. It was not a harmful obstacle for us, but if you too do not mind the noise, at least ask for a room on the...
Read moreStayed here for one night, as central Kwidzyn was fully booked. The ride out here feels like being abducted, very lousy roads leading to the hotel.||The staff seemed very uninterested in working here, and the cosy atmosphere of the place was sucked up by them.||Single room at the top of the stairs got me all the smell of food into the room that actually was heated to at least 25C for no reason at all (super thick duvet on the bed). The bed was worn out, you could feel all the springs going down your spine, and it was very uncomfortable. The best part was the double door, effectively blocking all noise from the stairs and corridor. The fan in the bathroom sounded like a small propeller plane taking off, not sure how effective it was, but is masks all bathroom noises, and makes sure anyone outside your door knows where you are.||||Had dinner here too with my colleagues, the staff had absolutely no idea who ordered what when the bill was to be put on the rooms, total mess. The food was average at best, the wait for the starters was ridiculous considering it was 2x carpaccio, and there was only one more company dining there. No idea how they cope with full house.||||Breakfast was a plus at least, and the view...
