My opinion maybe is a bit long, but is essential and gives plenty of details, based on family stay. ||The hotel is located in 2 old grand villa form begining of XIX century, but the spirit of by-gone years in well preserved till today despite the fact that everything has been modernized.||Sowia Dolina (in Polish) means Owl valley or Eulental (in German, as originally 100 years ago). So, the different figures of owls can be found practically all over and create special charm at this pace. I appreciated ||The property is perfect organized by the owner, who takes care of everything. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Well furnished rooms, nice balconies, all over very clean. Read moreThe phrase involuntarily rolled off my lips when I entered: “What a Charming Hotel!” ||If you are looking for opulence, bell boys, concierges, crystal chandeliers and silk wall covering, keep moving. But if you are looking for a cozy chalet, warm & welcoming ambience, home-made meals with dinners rivaling gourmet restaurants, then you’ve arrived. ||||I stayed two nights, while in the area on business with my European colleagues – Polish, German and French. The property is situation in a small village, off a winding two-lane road, surrounded by lush pines and trees, and has a tennis court, a picnic area, a lovely pond, and just overall pleasant grounds. They use all local ingredients – they actually pick their own mushrooms! The iron chimney with the blazing fire completes the evening dining experience. Breakfasts are served buffet style, with home-made baked goods and jams, along with a selection of cold cuts, cheeses and smoked fish; and omelets made to order. ||||My only objection was to the fact that some people elected to smoke in the restaurant: yes, many smoke in Europe, but most choose to be respectful of others’ non-smoking preferences – those stepped out onto the patio to enjoy their cancer sticks. ...

The interior is well maintained with an old world feel on the second level and a fresh look in the dining area. Breakfast was simple with no hot foods but cold salads, breakfast cereals, breads, juices, and a nice coffee machine. Nothing to rave about because other reviews had me expecting a chef making custom omelets with bacon and pancakes. Dinners are ample portions with a single plate enough for two. My tomahawk steak was raw in much of the meat but the meat quality was decent. The owner is a great german guy and the type of man who would fix those minor issues in the room had I brought it to his attention but it seems he lacks proactive help that feels embarrassment with a guest noticing such things. Customer service was going very well save for the last lunch after checkout. We wanted to order another drink but found our server on a break in the next room eating but she called out a second server to help us (I know the German guess are accustomed to calling out for service so it is something they...
