We recently stayed at this hotel and had a lovely time overall. The surrounding views of mountain tops and water reservoirs are absolutely stunning and offer a peaceful and scenic backdrop for a relaxing break.
Room: The apartment was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean upon arrival. It offered ample storage and a generous amount of space to move around comfortably. The kitchen area was well-equipped for a self-catering stay, with most essentials provided. However, the immediate surroundings of the apartment appeared unfinished, with no grass and only patches of mud and weeds, which detracted slightly from the overall experience.
Bathroom / Sauna: While having a sauna included in the apartment was a nice touch in theory, its location within the main bathroom made things a bit impractical—especially when others needed to use the facilities. It also took roughly an hour to reach a usable temperature, which made spontaneous use inconvenient. Additionally, the hot water in the shower never quite reached a proper temperature, remaining only lukewarm throughout our stay.
Hot Tub: The private hot tub was a wonderful addition—perfect for unwinding after a long day of walking in the mountains. However, privacy around the area was limited. There are conifer trees planted which will eventually help with screening, but in the meantime, some temporary privacy measures such as trellises or shutters would make a big difference. The hot tub cover also struggled in windy conditions, even when clipped down, which could use some attention.
Shared Facilities: Both the indoor and outdoor pools were quite small, shallow, and not really suitable for swimming. They felt more like communal baths than actual pools, which made it uncomfortable at busy times. These facilities seem more designed for children’s play than for adult relaxation or exercise.
Layout & Access: The layout of the resort could be improved. To reach the reception, pool, and restaurants, guests must walk to one end of the resort to cross the road and then double back along the other side. It’s not ideal and can be inconvenient—especially in poor weather.
Restaurants: The on-site pizza restaurant served good food, but it's tucked away behind a building and doesn’t benefit from the beautiful views elsewhere in the resort. The main restaurant, advertised as à la carte, lacked the atmosphere you'd typically expect. All guests, whether opting for buffet or à la carte, are seated in the same area overlooking the pool, which felt more casual and less refined. A clearer explanation of what the à la carte experience entails, along with a more distinct dining area, would help elevate the experience.
Staff & Check-in: Check-in was straightforward, but when we arrived at the apartment, our keycard didn’t work—requiring a trip all the way back to reception to sort it out. Most staff were polite and helpful, though we had a disappointing encounter with one member of staff cleaning the pool. Not only was he rude in tone, but when we tried to speak to him, he simply walked away without saying a word. It was an unwelcoming experience, made worse by the fact that guests were told not to wear sliders around the pool, while he was walking around in them himself. This felt both unprofessional and inconsistent.
Overall: Though the views and apartment were lovely, the overall resort experience left a lot to be desired. From impractical layouts and underwhelming shared facilities to a lack of privacy and a few disappointing service encounters, it’s not a place I would choose to return to...
Read moreIt’s a really nice resort, but it doesn’t live up to the expectations. Branding and design are great. Still, as soon as I arrived, a series of disappointments followed. I’m writing them down in a bid to help the owners improve this place, as it has some great potential.
1️⃣ There are two categories of guests. If you want to be their “priority” customer, never opt for apartments. On weekdays, we were treated equally and were allowed to eat breakfast at the hotel. On weekend, however, we were informed that it was “a privilege” that no longer applies to us when the hotel is fully booked. Imagine this: on your fifth or sixth day, you’re already used to hotel breakfast, where and how it’s served. Next day, you suddenly learn that you’re no longer allowed to enter the room, and you’re advised to go to a tent that’s temporarily set up next to the hotel. Contrary to breakfast served at the hotel, “tent breakfast” lacks many features. You like pancakes? Sorry, those aren’t served here. What about all the fancy ingredients that I enjoyed adding to my salad? Excuse us, but those are only served to hotel guests. Worse still, the tent in which breakfast is served lacks any atmosphere. It is noisy, full of people, with some poor quality disco music played on a boombox. Plus, food isn’t replenished in a timely manner. I waited for scrambled eggs for about 10 minutes.
2️⃣ Common areas are too scarce for the number of guests the hotel takes. So when you go for breakfast in the morning, expect a line.
3️⃣ Same is true for spa. It’s very stylish, but has too few pools and hot tubs.
4️⃣ Communication is poor. Upon checkin, nobody told us that before going to the pool, we need to ask for towels at the reception desk. So I went to the locker-room, took a shower before entering the pool… only to learn that I won’t get a towel.
When I asked lifeguard if he could help, he declined. He also suggested that as a guest from the apartments (and not the hotel) I might be charged extra for using the pool. Which was false.
On another occasion, when I asked another employee for some help concerning gym equipment, the person told me “it was not her department so she couldn’t help.”
I don’t want to finish this review on a negative note. The hotel is really stylish, the pool has some really nice features, such as the external sauna. And I really...
Read moreDuring our recent family trip to the Karkonosze mountains, we stayed at Lake Hill hotel, and overall, it was a mixed experience. The location of the hotel was fantastic, with a beautiful view of the lake, and the breakfast spread was delightful. The spa and pool facilities were a great way to relax after a day of exploring.
However, I must admit that our room was a major letdown. We traveled with a family of 28, and the price we paid for the room (master suite for 4) did not match the quality we received. It was disheartening to see that the apartments, rented at a lower price by a family member, were more comfortable and better furnished than our supposedly higher-end hotel rooms.
The room felt more like a two-star accommodation despite the hotel's four-star rating. To make matters worse, there was no fourth bed, leaving my son to sleep on a terribly uncomfortable sofa in the living room. The location of our room was changed last minute to a ground floor master suite. The reason was that some hotel guests extended their stay for another night on the day of check out, and we got moved to a different room. Our ground floor suite was next to the outdoor smoker corner for staff, which was very unpleasant.
The beds were uncomfortable, and the lack of proper pillows only added to our discomfort. The curtains were dirty, with noticeable holes from cigarette burns, which gave a poor impression of cleanliness. What surprised us the most was that our room was not cleaned even once during our three-night stay.
When I tried to address these issues with the reception, they seemed dismissive, promising to take note of my complaints, but no follow-up or action was taken. This lack of responsiveness left me feeling frustrated and unheard as a guest.
So, while the location and hotel amenities were enjoyable, the disappointing room experience overshadowed the positives. I hope the hotel management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements to provide a better guest experience in the future and demonstrate that their service and cleanliness is worth a four...
