I'd stayed in Smolarnia Hotel for 3 nights in September. It meant to be an amazing experience, I based my choice on the pictures & reviews online, led by the highest price per night in this part of Poland (420 PLN per night). Unfortunately, it turned out to be a massive disappointment. I must say that prior to my arrival I had a quite pleasant and professional contact with the staff to complete the booking, but the poor standard hit me at the very first moment we arrived... Nobody helping with the luggage, one person at the reception (not even available at all times btw.), no place to even sit with the belongings during the check-in, no room-service presented on the arrival - because the phone was not answered a few times when I tried to call the service, I went to the reception a few times to get someone's help and nobody was there, nor even responding when called "is anyone here?" a few times! The room itself was really not maintained well, the carpet had stains and the light bulbs in the bedroom were not working, towels were not changed everyday, nor the bed sheets; the bath did not have any glass/curtain for the shower etc. Maybe 50 years ago that would be indeed called 3 or 4-star accommodation, at the time being I would personally rate it as 2-star hotel at the very maximum. The only positive experience that I must share and that really deserves to be mentioned here is the food in Smolarnia restaurant, the chef's skills truly deserve the attention and should be known. The overall hotel experience though - I am sorry to say it has been a true disappointment even for myself who was born and raised in this part of the country, as well as for my partner who visited Poland for the first time...
Read moreMy husband and I along with group of friends stayed in the hotel at the beginning of April as guests of friend's wedding. The hotel has a lovely traditional rustic look located in a quiet and peaceful wood. The room we stayed in was simple, small, no fridge and minibar and bed was uncomfortable unfortunately. However, staffs were attentive and helpful, offered service with smile. Though it appeared only staffs at the reception understand English but they tried to understand and I had Polish friends with me so it wasn't a problem. The hotel ground looks lovely. Big veranda for sitting outside overlooking the quiet and peaceful lake. There was also seating area along the lake and a footpath that led you from there along the lake into a wood, thus we had a good refreshing walk after breakfast. We had cake and coffee at the veranda, superb, would recommend anyone to try. Great food at the wedding, they all looked beautiful and tasty and definitely great service from staffs. The cold breakfast was ok and provided an adequate enough spread. Internet service wasn't fast but stable throughout our stay. All in all, apart from the room, we had a...
Read moreI stayed in Smolarnia Hotel for two nights for business purposes. Yes, it is in the middle of nowhere - in deep woods what you may enjoy (silence) or not - in case you need crowds of downtown around you. ||Overall - nice building of the hotel. Very good restaurant run but very recognised chef. You will enjoy. Good soups. Good main courses with wide variety of meats of deers, boars, etc. Unique and GOOD. Kitchen was a strongest point of this hotel. ||||Room - was quite spacious. But heating - though set to maximum - was just ambient. Lower mid acceptable. Additionally internet did not work at all! What on business trip is not acceptable - you need to be connected when not on vacation. Issue though reported to reception for two days - was not resolved within this time!!! Not acceptable. ||Overall - nice hotel with very good kitchen. I can sleep wearing socks to compensate moderate heating but without internet I just can not live when on business trip. Next time being there - I would call them first to check if internet works - only then do the...
