Stayed here in June 2017. I was with a big group and we had booked the whole hotel.||Check in was quick, efficient and dealt with by a friendly member of staff.||I have stayed here a few times in the past and have always found the hotel to be good.||One thing to note is that the reception is on the first floor up a lot of steps. there are no lifts here.||So to the room. I had room 21 (just my age - I wish) It is a twin room but I had sole occupancy. So as you might have guessed there are 2 single beds - one for me and one for the case! Bed was comfortable, A good sized wardrobe, dressing table, small table and chair. Nice amount of space. The bathroom is a good size but only has a shower - quite large. Needless to say there is also the most important item in there - the toilet. A good sized wash basin etc. Everything was clean and well kept. ||Restaurant. This is on the ground floor and is very large as it is also the function room. We had breakfast there most mornings. The food was very good and a good selection was on offer. There is also a bar here which is open in the evenings. Our group had a very big party here with over 60 persons attending. This was very good.||They also hold many wedding receptions here.||Now the rooms do not have a kettle etc but the staff at the reception will always make you a cuppa and they also keep beers and other drinks in a small fridge for purchase.||So to sum up. it is a good hotel to stay at and if the need arose I would stay here again.||O there is also free wi - fi. But beware no lifts and the rooms are...
Read moreWe were in Wolsztyn for the steam trains, and the Kaukaska is really the only hotel option in Wolsztyn at the moment.||||For us Australians the decor was like a trip back into the 1970's, but that is a matter of bemusement rather than anything bad ;-)||||The first room we were allocated was awful - very small, not particularly clean and reeking of smoke. To their credit, the staff took notice of our displeasure and offered instead a "suite" - a small two room "apartment" plus bathroom, clean and with the same retro decor. In fact, my wife was most impressed by some features not found in the most expensive hotels, such as a hall stand by the door for hanging scarves and coats, and a full length mirror.||||Breakfast was basic and a bit more biased towards protein (eggs, meat, cheese) than we would normally have - which is a case of us being out of step with local norms - but was fine.||||The Ritz it is not, but it doesn't pretend to be. Other than the smokey room experience, it is a good, honest provincial hotel with friendly and efficient staff, including cheerful young people who relieved us of the embarrassment of stumbling along with our...
Read moreClean hotel, oldskool 80's rooms but clean and hygenic. Staff is freindly but none of them speak English. Difficult for non Polish speaking guests. Breakfast buffet is decent. Enough choices but nothing fancy. Diner is in the same line. It's fresh and decent but not restaurant quality. Hotel Kaukaska is a good budget hotel for people who purely need it for sleeping and who have plans during the day because in the surroundings there is nothing to do. In the evening the city has not much to offer, you really need to go to Poznan for nightlife. I recommend for people who pass through Poland and stay for a night of for business...
