I recently visited Siemiatycze with a Polish friend. We stayed overnight at the Kresowiak Hotel. It is a fairly small hotel (the town is also small.) We stayed in one of their “apartment” rooms. The room was rather spacious and nicely furnished. When I first stayed at the hotel about 7 years ago, it was difficult for me since no one there spoke good English (at least during my overnight visit). This time, the woman at the desk spoke to me well in English as did the servers in the restaurant. I don’t think I encountered any of the cleaning staff, so I can’t speak about them, but the room was spotlessly clean and had very good bedding, pillows, and towels. It also had a small balcony that faced the road in front.||||In the basement level of the building is a small supermarket which sells all kinds of groceries, including meats and frozen foods as well as snacks and cold drinks. Behind the hotel is a parking lot for customers of the store as well as for hotel guests. My friend drove and parking was no problem at all. The hotel is just off the main town square. The hotel DOES have an elevator; I just did not notice it on my previous stay. .. my bad in my earlier review||||My friend and I had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both of which were very good. The dinner had a good number of choices. The breakfast was buffet style with ample choices. In both cases, the cooking was excellent, the food fresh, and the waitresses very efficient. Perhaps because we got there on Friday night, there were parties on both the night and in the late morning. The events did not disturb us, but because of the high quality of the meals, the hotel does seem to be one of the places in town where local people sometimes go for such events.||||Siemiatycze is not a large town, so the hotel is rather inexpensive, as is the restaurant. While the Kresowiak is not luxurious, it is very clean and friendly and the rooms I’ve stayed in are a good size and the beds comfortable. One gets a lot for his money there, so it is an excellent choice if one is visiting the region. While it does not seem to be a rich town, Siemiatycze is very nice, clean, and is...
Read moreI stayed overnight at this hotel in the center of Siemiatycze. The staff was very nice and the food they served (both dinner and breakfast) was quite good. I am rating this hotel "very good" because of the cleanliness and cooking, but it is a very basic hotel which has the feel of a motel about 30-40 years in the past, at least to this New Yorker. The room furnishings are simple and the hotel could definitely be brighter. Still, everything was spotless and I'm not sure that the economics of a small town hotel would support a major upgrade in the decor. One thing: there is not an elevator that I could see, so one might not want to bring heavy luggage along. I didn't, so I was fine. ||The wifi worked well and there is ample parking behind the hotel. ||The hotel is in the center of town, not 100 meters away from the main traffic circle. There is a small supermarket below the hotel. ||Should you take the train here from Warsaw (about 2 hours, 20 minutes), you should be aware that the Siemiatycze train station is not actually in the town. It is about 5 miles away. ||In any case, when I return to Siemiatycze, I will stay once again...
Read moreSince this place is in the far eastern part of Poland it takes a while to get there and when you're there you may end up hungry. A normal situation - you arrive to the hotel and would like to eat something. But not in this hotel. We sat at the table, nobody even looked at us. When I asked for some food in reply I was told that the waitress had to consult it with her manager and I had never seen her ever after. Seriously, what's that supposed to be? Consult what? Serving a food? Another issue - the hotel is advertised as having an A/C. I found one vent in the room but there is absolutely no control over the temperature. At least it was possible to open the window. And last but not least - noise. This place is more like a wedding place than a regular hotel. Summarizing: they don't serve food, A/C doesn't work and you won't be able to fall asleep because of noise. I wouldn't give them even one star but looks like you don't have much choice in Siemiatycze village - avoid...
