Monte da Serralheira, Agro turism — Hotel in Évora

We stayed here in April for 3 nights (3 adults, 1 baby). Lucia and George are friendly hosts. The location is fantastic and the garden area is nice to spend some quiet time outside. However, the positives end there. I have never had to write a negative review but this time I have to.

Our apartment was cold and humid upon arrival. Furniture and decor are dated which we didn’t mind but everything was old and extremely dirty (cobwebs everywhere, sweat stains on the living room chair and on pillow cases, shower doors covered in soap scum, hairdryer cord covered in mold, wet dishes in the cupboard, bucket and rag smelling like strong chemicals under the sink, many spiders and bugs in the apartment (dead and alive) and more). I already left this review on Airbnb but added it here to allow for posting photos. The beds were springy and hard and the pillows were flat and lumpy.

I do have to mention that we did not tell the hosts about the disturbing state of our apartment as nothing could have been done during our stay to deep clean it enough to be decent. This place needs significant investment of time and money to improve cleanliness...

We had a truly wonderful stay at Monte da Serralheira. This peaceful countryside retreat is just a short drive from Évora, but it feels like a world away - calm, quiet, and surrounded by nature. The property is full of charm, with beautiful gardens, friendly animals, and plenty of space to relax. The apartment was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially appreciated the outdoor seating area and the peaceful views in the morning as well as fully equiped swimming pool area. Its the perfect base for exploring the region, and also ideal for simply unwinding and enjoying the slower pace of life. The hosts Lucia and George were incredibly warm and welcoming, happy to share recommendations, stories, and even a bit of history about the estate. Ideal to relax in the nature. Very quiet with a lovely terrace and pool with a perfect temperature.

The house is simple and rustic, don't expect a modern and very elegant place. Personally, I loved it.

The property has two amazing big and friendly dogs. Lucia was as an amazing host, always available and received us with a fresh lemonade.

We went skydiving but we had no car. Lucia took us there early morning.

I will definitely come back! I would suggest adding milk...
