My friends and I had the honor of being the first guests in this beautiful house that feels like a home. João and his wife Sonia are really warm and lovely people. They love the house and it shows in every little detail. The place is so beautiful and everywhere you look you find another nice touch that was clearly well thought of. We had fresh orange juice made of oranges we picked ourselves from the tree (the tree that gives the house its name). João brought us Ginjinha to drink along with delicious cookies made by Sonia. Purely an amazing place to stay near Óbidos. Seems like time has stood still in the small village and the property is a gem of beauty. João the owner has exposed his soul with the handcrafted art and style of this place while preserving its heritage and history and made it to have such a relaxing atmosphere. We are seasoned travelers and this is by far one of the most authentic, creative, warm & intimate property you can ever wish for. I’ll put all my money in this property than in a 4-5 star hotel if I could. Every corner is almost spotless and so cosy. The host is very accommodating and passionate to share a piece of story of his family to the guests.
