Casa Cantiga — Hotel in Alcobaça

We spent 3 lovely months at Casa Cantiga, we couldn't have asked for a better experience; The Location was amazing, escape from the big city life in Lisbon while still having all necessary facilities (supermarkets, Restaurants...) within 7 min drive, while living in a big Quinta surrounded by nature, animals and the stars at night.

Our Hosts Maurice and Sandra were extremely kind, catered for all our needs and did everything in their power to make our stay pleasant and worry free. We felt at home immidiatley and were sad to leave the place and people.

While staying in the Quinta we enjoyed many of the activities offered for guests usage (for kids and adults); Trampoline (kids spent 24x7 on the big trampoline available right next to the house), Basketball (played on weekly basis with a local team), bicycle rides, jogging, playing miniature golf or saying hi to the goats and guinea pigs.

Everything was just perfect for us, could not have asked for better hosts and overall experience.

We are a portuguese family and we went searching for a quiet place to spend quality time with our two kids. We rented a Ford van transformed into a house. We were very excited for a two days escape from Lisbon just an hour away, but when we got there it was far better than we expected. The Dutch couple that did our check-in were amazingly friendly, the van was very nice and the surroundings and the extras were much much more than we could expect. The swimming pool was heated by solar panels, everything was clean and nicely decorated, there was a huge warehouse full of activities for the kids (table tennis, matraquilhos, badminton, volley, basketball, football, a huge boat for the toddlers, bikes - a world of fun), little goats to feed, a turtle, Guinea pigs, well a lot to do. And the quietness of the place, used only by a few people that fit there, no cars, no ambulances,no planes, just the noise of silence and nature. I could go on, but I shall leave a little so you can also be surprised. We will be back for sure. Nothing...

Casa Cantiga- The place to stay als je met kids het beste van de vakantie wilt maken. Wij met kids van 4 en 5 jaar oud verbleven in het ruime huis: Palmeira. Het was perfect. Terwijl we buiten bbq-den, keken we op de kids die voor het huis heerlijk op de trampoline sprongen en de boomhut beklommen om er samen met hun knuffels te gaan picknicken. Onze zoon Noéh was helemaal dol op lieve Melly (hondje). Elke dag mocht hij Melly verwennen met lekkere hondenkoekjes. Van eigenaar Maurice mochten ze hun eigen mandarijntje en peertje plukken, dit vonden ze fantastisch. Sandra die gaf ons elke dag leuke tips voor uitjes. Ook de pizzaavond met andere gasten was heel gezellig. Vanuit Casa Cantiga gingen we naar het mooie dorp Alcobaça. Als je hier gaat, kun je de lekkere Portugese gebakjes van Alcoa uitproberen met een cappuccino. Wil je leuke kleertjes voor de kids shoppen? Dan ben je bij Match & Co. bij het goede adres. Hier leuke unieke items gescoord voor mijn dochtertje. Bij LaLaLa heb ik voor mezelf leuke jurkjes en bordjes gekocht voor mooie prijsjes. Ook zijn we naar het Dino park geweest in Lourinha (echt een aanrader als de kids van dino’s houden). Prachtige grote dino’s buiten in het bos en ter afsluiting kunnen ze dino’s graven. Uiteten was niet nodig, omdat we zo’n fijn terras hadden en liever op ons gemak thuis zaten. We hebben zelf heel veel vis en papa vlees ge-bbq-ed en heerlijk op ons gemak van het eten genoten. Supermarkten heb je op 8 minuutjes rijden. Strandjes heb je ook genoeg. Zelf vonden we het strandje Praia da Paredes da Vitoria fijn, hier konden de kids -zonder dat je als ouder moest stressen vanwege de gevaarlijke zee- in een baaitje van de zee heerlijk spelen en banjeren. Ook de boottrip naar Berlenga was tof, zelfs dolfijnen gezien. Houd wel rekening dat het een pittige loop met veel trappen is, als je het eiland wil verkennen. Elke avond sloten we af met een verhaaltje van Pluk van de Petteflet of een sprookje uit één van de leuke boeken die in hun kamertje lagen. Wij raden dit verblijf zeker aan.
