Even is the hotel old, that is not stray. The rooms are relatively big and facilities are also available. Every day we had a clean room with new towels. Owners was still time available for any request. They was every day helpful and obliging. We had ordered accommodation with meal 3x/day. They prepared for us lovely local food. They was receptive for any change in plane of food. Lovely staff with personal approach! We communicated everything, what we needed and was no problem. I’ve been here a few years ago, for drinks at the piano bar, and I’ve always said I would come back to spend the night. Finally I did. It’s so wonderful do stay in a place like this. And it’s all so good: the bed, the huge bathroom, the high ceilings, the marvelous decor, the music, the generous and delicious breakfast, the staff, the surroundings… EVERYTHING! Maria Joao, the owner, goes above and beyond to make you feel at home… at a hotel! One doesn’t see this kind of treatment anymore. And there’s a quiet pool :) So… if you’re looking for something TRUE in every way , this is the place. I will most definitely return, to stay longer and explore every corner of this beautiful...

There is a pleasant garden at the rear of the hotel providing for relaxation, and there is a swimming pool too. Some evenings there is live music, and a piano player turned up one evening I was staying there. The library and bar area all add to the vintage atmosphere of this...
