Get there now while it is new, this is the kind of place that will be featured on honeymoon and travel channels and you'll never get a reservation.||||Pros||--6 stone cottages on the ocean, custom designed for local authenticity and contemporary comfort.||--Stunning location on the ocean in a beautiful section of the island, Santa Barbara with farms, goats and cattle being herded down the streets, good restaurants nearby. Easy to get to everything.||--One of a kind breakfast. Your cottage comes stocked with eggs, cheese, bacon, ham, juices, water, cereal, coffee and tea. Each morning a warm loaf of crusty bread is delivered in a wicker basket though a small hatch in the kitchen and you have breakfast on your beautifully set kitchen table with french doors looking out to the ocean. It simply doesn't get more romantic than this.||--The owner, Bruno, is gracious and helpful both in trip planning and while you are there. He provided us with all kinds of hiking information, restaurant recommendations, etc. and readily responds to e-mail.||--It is right near an amazing hike in the next town of Seretta--2.5 hours, probably the best on the island.||--So much more unique and charming than staying in the busy Angra. Seriously, my heart jumped when we passed ostriches in one yard and had to make way for a goat herd. ||--When you dream of the Azores, this is the place you dream of staying!||||Cons (absolutely none, just a few considerations)||-- You would need to be renting a car to stay here, but that is the only way to really see this island.||--It is about 35 minutes from the airport and...

Wir buchten dieses Hotel, um im Urlaub einen Ort zu finden, an dem wir zur Ruhe kommen und ganz für uns sein durften.||||Die Wohnungen werden als "Studio" bezeichnet. Dies trifft insofern zu, dass es sich um einen einzigen großen Raum handelt, der eine Kochecke, ein großes Bett, eine Couch, einen Esstisch, ein großes Steinwaschbecken und eine große gläserne Duschkabine mit Steinwanne beinhaltet. Nur die Toilette ist mit Wänden abgegrenzt. Das Zimmer ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Der Kühlschrank wird täglich nach Bedarf mit Käse, Schinken, Eiern, Joghurt, Wasser, Saft, Milch, Marmelade, Honig und sogar zwei Flaschen Bier gefüllt. Cornflakes, Obst, sowie ein Kaffeeautomat mit Kaffeepads stehen auch zur Verfügung, sodass immer für ein großes Frühstück gesorgt ist. Frisches Brot wird morgens über eine kleine verschließbare Kammer von außen hineingelegt. Die Gäste können es dann später von der Innenseite aus der Kammer entnehmen. Die Steinhäuser liegen alle mit traumhaftem Blick zum Meer. Holz und Feuerschale stehen kostenlos zu verfügung. Zwischen den einzelnen Studios ist genug Platz, sodass für Privatsphäre gesorgt ist.||||Alle Häuser liegen versteckt hinter einem Berg und sind unsichtbar von der Zufahrtsstraße aus. Auch ein schöner Pool mit Liegestühlen ist angelegt, von dem aus man das Meer beobachten kann.||||Einziger Nachteil: Man fährt leicht an der Einfahrt vorbei, da nur das Schild "Pico da Vigia" darauf hinweist und die Häuser von der Straße aus nicht zu sehen sind. Zudem ist die Zufahrtsstraße ein unbefestigter Feldweg. Mit dem Auto sollte man sehr aufpassen, da es leicht passieren kann, dass man auf der unebenen Straße aufsetzt. Es gibt auch keine Rezeption - der sehr freundliche Manager wohnt in einem Haus etwas weiter oberhalb der Wohnungen, gut zu Fuß zu erreichen. Dort trifft man ihn meist an.||||Wer etwas geräuschempfindlich ist, sollte für die Nacht Oropax mitnehmen, da die Zikaden sehr laut zirpen und die Möwen auch nachts stellenweise laute Rufe...

What a great place. The four of us (two brothers and wives) were welcomed by Sofia on arrival and shown to our accommodation, a two-bedroom chalet overlooking the sea, and, on a clear day, Pico. It was perfect, very tastefully decorated, and well laid out with two bedrooms, a lounge area and a useful kitchen space. There was a well stocked fridge that was replenished daily. Outside, our own private garden and a two-minute walk to the swimming pool. Our hostess was great and nothing was too much trouble for her. This is an amazing away-from-it-all place to stay.
