Otium Country House — Hotel in Ansião

I highly recommend this bed & breakfast. It is situated off a quiet country road in an oasis of peace, with great views of the surrounding countryside stretching as far as the eye can see. The accommodation is luxurious, with a large breakfast room and lounge complete with sofa, armchairs and a library on the ground floor, with the guest rooms above. There is a beautiful wooden staircase leading upstairs. The property itself is an old building that has been fully renovated to a high standard, and it is simply stunning. The owner told me she renovated it from a ruin.||||The breakfast was great, with a large choice of yogurt, breads, cheeses, ham, eggs, fruit juice, coffee and tea. I even tasted the local cheese made in nearby village of Rabaçal, situated to the north.||||This is a good place to be based as it is close to Pombal where the fast train takes you to Lisbon in 90 minutes, and to Ansiao, a small town to the south with a number of cafes, restaurants, banks, and shops. Now i am not a hotel/B&B fan, but what a lovely bed n breakfast this place is, the rooms clean, bright and airy the communal areas really nice and comfortable I really couldn't fault it the lady in charge when we arrived whom I think was the owner (not sure) was so nice and helpful,we arrived at 9pm in the dark so didn't see much but in the morning we asked about the pool and was directed to it after breakfast which I have too say was also excellent. Off we went in search of pool WELL what superb gardens and pool I've paid and seen worse these are a must see I was lost for words the place actually reminded me of an oasis, I couldn't find anything to moan about to my wife to support my dislike of B&Bs etc not only that it was that nice I would actually stay here for a holiday.. Me in a B&B/hotel so it must be good to sway me, it didn't look like a B&B or feel constrained like one either to the point of I didn't want to leave it was so nice.||Try it,...

😊: Staying with here was wonderful The accommodation helps you to fully relax as it is such a gorgeous place. The pool area and gardens are stunning. Rooms are very comfortable, with tea, water and mini fridge. Cooking and preparing meals in the very large and fully stocked kitchen down stairs is super easy.
