The place is located in a quite rural zone, just 8 km of narrow roads away from the highway, and is comprised of two modern buildings, in contemporary architecture, very well integrated into the landscape and taking full advantage of the view over the valley. One of the buildings has the living/ dining room and the kitchen while the other includes the 5 rooms, all with direct access to the garden. The rooms are very tasteful and cozy, ours had a great view over the valley. The bathroom had a sky window in the shower area and other nice details like the towel heater and fine bath products. All the place has very nice details, that gives a great warm feeling. There is also a nice swimming pool, not very big but very well integrated in the garden and with great view over the valley, that should be very pleasant in the summer.||||After arriving we were invited to an afternoon tea by the fireplace, with exquisite tea flavors and freshly baked biscuits (still warm) prepared specially for us. In fact, the gastronomy is a very important part of the experience, as the owner is the winner of the first masterchef of Portugal. We truly recommend not to miss the opportunity to have dinner there: the exclusivity of having a special gourmet dinner cooked and served only for us at the dining room is a very special experience and it was very good and very well presented. The value is quite fair for the quality of the meal (30€/person) and should not be missed. Breakfast is also very special, we were allowed to choose the most convenient time for us with no restrictions. When we arrived, the table was set like if it was for a magazine photo, full with fresh products from the region.||||The attention we received from the owner and staff was perfect, always there to help but non-intrusive, allowing us to feel both well received and comfortable. All in all, this is a true gem and perfect for a quiet and...
Read moreMy daughter and I stayed here off season in January and were treated to a wonderful couple of days on the top of a mountain in a very beautiful part of Portugal. The owner, Vasco, is an accomplished chef (as well as being the architect who designed the modern renovation of old stone construction). During a rainy afternoon, we were given cooking demonstrations in Vasco's beautiful kitchen, then sat by the fire reading and having tea and baked goods. Dinners were spectacular, and focused on Portuguese specialties. Vasco also personally took us to meet his friends and tour an organic winery, and to walk around the charming town of Arcos de Valdevez, and he drove us quite a ways along and through the Peneda-Gerês National Park, where we made traditional corn bread in ancient ovens, then had it with lunch along with cured local meat, cheese, olive oil, and wine. We had an amazing couple of days, and would love to return with other family members. I'm sure it is beautiful at other times of...
Read moreCasas da Li is such a beautiful and relaxing place! There is a bit of a drive to get there, but as you arrive and get to see the place and the view, it's absolutely amazing!
The hosts make a real effort to make your stay as good as possible.
The room with private bathroom were really clean. The breakfast was delicious and had everything. There were also options for a sandwich and/or drink in the afternoon and you can also book a delicious dinner in the evening that they cook. The pool was also great, especially during a hot summer day!
All in all, a great place with really good service and...
