O Aconchego das Raízes, Turismo em Espaço Rural — Hotel in Baião

Stayed here for four nights towards the end of september. Located a few minutes outside of the local town of Baiao in the Duero valley, it was sign posted and easily located. Parking space is plentiful but care must be taken when turning into the property from the road. We where welcomed by the Owners and shown our room which was a beautifully laid out family room with plenty of space and nicely co-ordinated bathroom with shower facilities. ||Breakfast was included in the price and includes home made produce, Preserves, a variety of tasty breads. In addition we where served a lovely pastry savoury with ham and cheese, Juice, coffee and tea was also available and all gratefully enjoyed. ||The owners could not have been more helpful and welcoming thank you!!!!.||A fantastic base to explore the Duero valley, it vineyards,sites of historical interest, natural landscape and the river of course. We visited two of the twelve or so of the local restaurants during our visit both of which where very reasonably priced and generous in portion size. Will visit again...

My wife and I have just stayed with Joaquim and Eleanor at O Conchego das Raizes||in Baiao and we had a wonderful stay. The accomodation was lovely and really reasonably priced but we can not say enough praises about Joaquim and Eleanor the owners their English is very basis and our Portugese is non existent but the help they went out of their way to give us was fantastic, not only did we get a beautiful continental breakfast of homemade of breads, cakes jams, orange juices Tea and Coffee they brought Tea and coffee to our room phoned Taxis to take us into town so I did not drink and drive the taxi was really cheap we will return again for definite thank you to both of them and wish them much...

Thus is simp one of the coziest places I've ever been. It is like a boutique design hotel, just that everything is real. Very old house with modern amenities and unique old style furniture. All perfectly colored. It's run by a couple and you feel as welcome as if you'd visit your grandparents. Really really nice people that run and maintain this small property of maybe a handful of rooms. Nice area to play, cozy pool, garden and some good nearby restaurants and wineries.
