A site with a fantastic location and privileged enough to be away from the city movements and at the same time close enough to access the beautiful, cultured city of Beja.
I cannot forget to highlight the cleanliness and hygiene, the impeccable taste of the decor, the quality of the food, all locally sourced and the friendliness and hospitality of the welcoming staff.
An experiment in which each room has a theme and decorated differently, not one of the rooms have the same interior layout! A great place to relax or to simply live without any stress. Ideal for taking a few days off and rest or even take family and friends to a party or gathering, because the versatility of the space allows this.
The details are not left to chance, from the mirror with a magnifier embedded in the same, small refrigerator, or even small islands planted in front of the swimming pool, a double shower and luxury bath in every room.. Even the playful guard 'puppy' adds to the homely, welcoming aura.
The building maintains its rustic appearance very well including the lobby, the reception, the yard and the kitchens, but the rooms, the pool, gardens, offer contemporary and modern comfort, where time loses itself in peace and quiet accompanied by a glass of fine wine. Alentejo, of course!
Learning about ecological sustainability, throughout the estate, makes this visit very interesting, intelligent and of high quality. I advise you to truly savour the cuisine and the wines, as well as the delíciosos regional products on offer, along with the innovative craftsmanship.
Diabroria is perfect, and will cater, for all your needs. The Family Apartment, with 10 secluded rooms, includes a kitchen and dining area - ideal for the whole family or a big party. In addition, the private rooms are ideal for a quiet, tranquil, romantic long...
Read more"Higher Authority" was having a significant birthday so we decided on two nights away. We mainly went for geocaching and we found 19 caches over the 3 days. The hotel was a drive away from places to eat and they did not do evening dinner, just B&B. We ate in Ferreira the first night, but when we enquired they said they would cook for us the second night if we wished for €17 each inc wine, so we said yes and ordered fish. I quietly asked the receptionist if she could get a little birthday cake.||||There were just us on our candlelit table and the owner and his family of 6 on another. They served the fish with potatoes and onions, then came back with a further course (a black pork dish which is a Portuguese delicacy) so we were stuffed - also an excellent bottle of wine from the neighbouring farm. Then two of them made some music, a guitarist and his girlfriend singing. Anyway, the lights went down and they came in with a large chocolate cake with 2 candles, a bottle of complimentary champagne and they all sang "Happy Birthday". They then joined us for the rest of the evening finishing at 11.30. HA was quite emotional! ||||So nice to do something special on her "big" birthday.||||The room was comfortable, clean and large and we could have held a party in the shower, not to mention the massive bathroom. Breakfast was good and plentiful and the dining room lovely, with views out to the pool and lake.||||The only negative is that wifi does not extend to the rooms, just the reception and restaurant, but this is not sufficient to make it 4 stars.||||Highly recommended! You will struggle to find better service or kinder,...
Read moreI wanted to visit the Beja area and this place was just right for me. I was rattling around in a very spacious 'Junior Suite', which was sharp, modern and had the finest bathroom I've ever seen in an hotel. I had a Swallow's nest in a niche outside my door! The property is set next to a lake, which would be perfect for 'birders' and gives a very pleasant aspect. I was a bit surprised to find that there is no evening meal unless the owners decide that the hotel is full enough to warrant the trouble, but there is a very friendly little restaurant in Sao Brissos, a couple of km away, which serves excellent local food at ridiculously low prices. Breakfast at H da D was a bit hit and miss. It is supposed to start at 0800, but on one day was not functional until 0830. I was also surprised that they didn't serve fresh orange juice when this fruit is so cheap in Portugal. Ham and cheese were a bit plastic, but the scrambled eggs, sourdough bread and coffee were good.||The young lady on reception - I think her name is Adriana - was delightful, very helpful and with very good English, which made things easier for a fossilised old Brit. I would certainly stay...
