Most Memorable Experience Ever!

We recently had the privilege of spending two days and one night at this exquisite estate, and it left us enchanted. 
Photos simply do not capture the true essence of this place, and words fail to convey the profound emotions felt by the beauty of the property and its natural surroundings. The estate itself is large, and even with a two-day stay, we couldn't explore every corner, though we certainly made the most of our time.
 Having visited numerous luxury properties around the world, Herdade Da Malhadinha Nova stands out on a whole different level. 

The villa was nothing short of exceptional, equipped with high-quality amenities, and every detail was well thought out. The panoramic views were simply breathtaking. Dining at the restaurant was a delight, with incredibly fresh and high-quality food. The impressive quality of the wine, bread, olive oil, and other fresh ingredients, all sourced from the land itself, left a lasting impression. We took part in a wine tour and tasting, a quad ride through the stunning landscape, and a horseback ride during sunset—all highly recommended and must-try experiences. The staff's service was impeccable; everyone we encountered possessed extensive knowledge about the property and its products, making us feel truly special. The level of care and attention devoted to maintaining the property was evident, and it's clear that everyone works tirelessly to provide the best for their guests. Malhadinha Nova is truly a magical place and embodies the slowed down nature of the culture of the Alentejo region of Portugal. We stayed in Casa das Pedras #4 for two nights in June 2022 and you could be outside on the patio or in the plunge pool and not see another soul for HOURS. Very romantic room, we should have stayed longer. We were there on a Sunday night when the restaurant is closed... and the staff has a "barbecue" which can only be described as HEAVEN ON EARTH. They have a beautiful buffet and a carving station, and live music! If you get cold as the sun sets, the staff has blankets on hand! They have thought of absolutely everything, and it was one of our favorite experiences of our entire honeymoon. We had a picnic lunch which was also amazing, and very thoughtfully done even though it is somewhat difficult to control the bugs when you have a picnic. The staff is outstanding and so accomodating. My husband and I were not eating indoors at this time because of the pandemic, and they graciously set up a table for us outside when we dined at the property's restaurant. The food and wine are delicious, and one of the cornerstones of the experience here. We will certainly be back, and we cannot wait to stay in Casa das...

This venue could have very easily been up there with the best. The farm is truly captivating, setting the standard of natural and authentic living. I could not praise the concept more highly however service fell well short tarnishing the experience.

Checkin was chaotic and unwelcoming, there did not seem to be a natural flow of interaction. All our details and itinerary times for transfers, wine tours, dinners and activities were taken down and not 1 was adhered to. Waiting 35 mins for a dinner transfer or arriving for an unexpected wine tour was duly noted. This was semi-acceptable as we were on a working farm so softened to the idea service would be different.

However the service in the restaurant needs to be addressed. There was no excuse for the mishaps that occurred (not clearing the table after courses, forgetting items, deficiently slow service - having to ask for the bill twice etc).

Checkout was just as unorganised as checkin, multiple incorrect postings on the bill etc

Needless to say you will have fantastic wine, healthy and hearty breakfasts. Fishing with Fabio (who provided great service) was fun.

I will keep a close eye on this place, as if the service was addressed it could very easily be the best kept secret...
