Farm Holidays Silvercoast — Hotel in Caldas da Rainha

We stayed in one of the apartments for 7 days. We were surrounded by the most beautiful countryside and flanked by fruit trees and grape vines. The casa was spacious and contained all the rustic charm you will ever want from a farm holiday. Lars and Ase were the best hosts you could ever expect and provided fresh fruit on our arrival. We received a tour of the farm and introduction to the characterful animals who live there. We became very fond of the cockerels and hens who lapped up our food scraps and enjoyed seeing Floyd, the horse and the farm cats on a daily basis. The lovely swimming pool was a luxury in the hot sun and the communal bar-b-que area served us well on our alfresco dining. It is a world away from the package holiday resorts and a great base to explore Lisbon, Obidos and the silver coast beaches. The cottages were spacious and well equipped. The beds are really comfortable. A bottle of home grown red wine awaited us together with a basket of fresh eggs on arrival, which was a nice welcone. Both can be purchased for a nice price with the owners. The owners are easy going and welcome te help with anything. The pool is great with hot weather. The farm is in a great location to visit a lot of interesting villages and sites. Almost all of which are within a 30 to 45 minutes ride. And the beautiful beach of foz do Arelho is a 20 minutes ride. There are 3 restaurants worth a visit with a 30 to 40 minute walk. This location is perfect for those with Children or for those who want the peace a d tranquility of farm life whilst still being 5 minutes from excellent restaurants, supermarkets etc. Beautiful beaches are 10 minutes away.
