Yes, you can stay here and enjoy it! That’s my personal relieve after reading the many bad reviews. I like to think, for all parties, that obidos took the right measures. Or I was lucky or the others unlucky. Most likely it is a mix of all. However let’s deep dive a bit. Service was great, two „younger“ personnel was super helpful and overly friendly at all times! And really at all. Even at 9pm they would still change money for the washing with a smile on their face. And they would stop what they were doing whenever I entered in search of support. They correctly pointed to all facilities and also knew, which ones were freshly renovated. Here also, the „renovated“ bathroom is everything that you can ask for. Plenty of clean and modern toilets and showers without any smell. The pool is good, the shop has all basic supplies at good cost. Also the guy running it was helpful. The restaurant did not look like one where I would eat, but there are great restaurants around! My highlight are the pitches. There is really something for everyone. Small, big, fenced, free, in the shades or in the sun. And the permanent campers next to me where super friendly! I also didn’t have the mentioned problem that all good ones were taken. In my experience the fluctuation is so high, that it’s only a matter of one night to be able to move again. Well that’s it! Good place overall, with some areas of improvement. The area itself is breathtaking! We came here with our roadcycles!

=Orbitur Foz do Arelho - a green haven of peace= My family and I spent 1 unforgettable week here (bungalow 2+2, and 🏕 ). The campsite offers harmonious blend of nature (refreshing and light shade ambiance all day long), comfort and family-friendly fun. Its lushing setting, calm ambiance, excellent and well-maintained amenities, and engaging activities, make it a stand out choice for families like ours. On the campsite, we enjoyed the spacious pool w/ kids entertainment, the football pitch, and the games room. Besides, we had access to clean toilets/showers/self-service laundrette, snack-bar, mini-bar, camper services). Outside the camping, we visited local heritage sites just 10min away by car (the fortified city of Óbidos and Caldas da Rainha), but we spent most of the time at the picturesque Óbidos Lagoon and its golden beaches. We highly recommend INTERTAIDAL for kayaking, stand-up paddle, and other water sports. We’d always have lunch at Foz do Arelho too. We highly recommend “Ondas Bar Taverna” (by the sea) and “Central” (centre). After lunch, you can grab a coffee at “Maria Gulosa” and have a “Bola de Berlim” (a delicious pastry that Portuguese love to have at the beach😜). Last but not the least, I’d like to highlight the great job done by staff at Orbitur Foz do Arelho. They are always friendly, helpful and welcoming. My family and I loved the experience at Orbitur Foz do Arelho and we highly recommend it.

Somos uma família de 5+1. Viajamos em carrinha, em família, com três crianças e uma cadela. Adoramos conhecer a natureza e deixá-la conforme a encontramos, e procuramos sobretudo a tranquilidade e a paz que apenas se pode encontrar em lugares incríveis que Portugal construiu. Viajamos há muitos anos, de vários meios de transporte, com poucos e com muitos recursos, com imensos planos ou fugidas de última hora. Este ano decidimos viajar todos juntos, durante as férias da escola e creche e, como já não somos só dois e temos de nos preocupar com o bem estar das nossas filhas, onde estão e com que está á volta delas, e vice versa, decidimos procurar um lugar com várias atividades e lugares/terrenos/paisagens diferentes, mas mais perto do mundo "real". Neste lema, incluímos a nossa cadela. Com base nas fotografias e alguns comentários fomos pela primeira vez a um parque Orbitur, num lugar lindíssimo e espectacular, bem localizado e com fáceis acessos. Chegando, o parque é bastante bem sinalizado, tem bastante estacionamento fora e dentro, ao lado da recepção. As instalações são recentes e minimamente atuais, sendo que uma funcionária me contou que haviam campistas que chegaram ao ponto de roubar chuveiros dos balneários, o que os fez desatualizar alguns utensílios básicos e necessários para o bom funcionamento do parque. Os recepcionistas são bastante educados, falam bastantes idiomas e são prestaveis, atenciosos e comunicativos. Fornecem informação de forma curta e compreensível. Sabem orientar. O parque em si, é grande. Tem vários acessos a pé, e para várias e diferentes viaturas. Os preços não são razoáveis. Muito caro para o tipo de acampamento que proporciona. É época alta mas não compensa passar um fim de semana inteiro, a menos que viaje em caravana/camper. Há inúmeros WC, pontos de eletricidade, zonas para lavar loiça/roupa. No edifício da piscina há bar/restaurante/mercearia, várias mesas dentro e na esplanada. Várias escadas e rampas para todo o tipo de mobilidades. Os preços do restaurante são bons tendo em conta a qualidade, mas é comida tipo snack bar. Podia ser mais fresca e mais saudável. Os funcionários do bar deixam a desejar, principalmente os da manhã, são lentos e vagarosos e nota-se falta de ânimo. Equipa da noite mais enérgica e disposta. Há zonas de convívio, uma pequena exposição de arte, alguns brinquedos para os pequenos e livros em vários idiomas. Zonas de bilhar fechadas mediante pedido na receção. Há funcionários sempre ativos na piscina para ajudar a manter os mais novos entretidos, bem como um insuflável. A equipa de manutenção/jardinagem, sempre em movimento e presentes pelo parque! Não há silêncio. Se procuram um refugio não é o caso. Há parque infantil com escorrega, baloiços e areal. Sábado á noite karaoke até às 00h, sendo que o horário de silêncio é das 23h às 7h (havendo tolerância até às 00h). Após o karaoke aonde se pode ouvir as famílias a regressar às tendas e WC. Terreno irregular e inconstante. Arveolo bonito e minimamente cuidado. Relvado podia ser mais curto e frequente, vários desníveis. Há um campo de futebol com balizas na zona de acampamento livre. Os WC dispensam papel higiénico, o que tristemente faz notar a falta de educação de algumas pessoas que aproveitam o grátis para desperdiçar furiosamente recursos que poderiam durar mais. Há algum lixo menor no chão, apesar dos caixotes do lixo dispensados por inúmeros locais do parque, bem como contentores de reciclagem. As pessoas no geral são educadas mas pouco inclusivas, menos as crianças que convivem quer no parque, como na piscina, e conversam e brincam mesmo sem se conhecer. Há bom ambiente, mas podia ser mais sossegado e acolhedor. É um acampamento muito estilo pousada, roçando o acampamento escuteiro/religioso. Domingo às 1:05 da manhã, acordamos assoberbados pelo fogo de artifício da festa local, que parecia estar a ser largado mesmo ao lado do parque de campismo. Parecia um filme de guerra e estávamos no meio das bombas, nem pondo as almofadas á volta dos ouvidos. No geral, a não repetir. Não compensa.

We arrived here late (just after 10:00 PM) for a one-night stay. We had planned to camp further south in Peniche, but after checking out the two campgrounds there and being disappointed with the quality, we decided to drive further north to this place in hopes of finding something better. Fortunately, we were happy with what we found on arrival. We had stayed at another campground managed by the same company (Orbitur) a few nights earlier and had a pretty similar experience. Special thanks to the helpful staff for the late check-in (reception closes at 10:00).|| ||The campground itself is located just outside the lovely town of…in a wooded, green area, providing plenty of shade throughout the campground. The campsites themselves are quite good, helped by the fact that the campground was not very busy when we were there, leaving plenty of options available and making it VERY quiet. We were able to find a nice peaceful spot within a couple minutes of searching, allowing us to get the tent setup and have our bed ready quite quickly. The facilities were also fine. Similar to the other campground we stayed at from this chain, the bathrooms and showers were not the best I have ever seen, but were not disgusting either. There was also a small shop onsite which, while not having the largest selection, was still open till 11:00 which was a big help to us with our late arrival.|| ||As with most campgrounds in Portugal, the price is very good (~20-25 EUR)|| ||Overall, we were quite happy the stay and would use the...

The campsites themselves are quite good, helped by the fact that the campground was not very busy when we were there, leaving plenty of options available and making it VERY quiet. We were able to find a nice peaceful spot within a couple minutes of searching, allowing us to get the tent setup and have our bed ready quite quickly. The facilities were also fine. Similar to the other campground we stayed at from this chain, the bathrooms and showers were not the best I have ever seen, but were not disgusting either. There was also a small shop onsite which, while not having the largest selection, was still open till 11:00 which was a big help to us with our late arrival.
