😊: Great views over the Rio D’ouro from the one side, the other faces the railway. The hotel is built on several levels necessitating the use of a lift between the higher floors and the dining room ( for an excellent European style breakfast) and the pool which as during our stay the temperature reached the high 30s was delightful. Tua itself is a small town with three decent restaurants and proved a good centre for travelling along the higher reaches of the river and visiting vineyards, although the main centre for these is based in Pinhão.. 😢: The hotel in general was everything we expected. A family run establishment with slightly dated furniture and fittings giving it a quaint feel. During our stay there was an issue with the electrics causing our air-conditioning unit and the lift to break down. The staff moved us into an alternative room with working a/c and contacted engineers to resolve the issues, which were still ongoing when we left. Read moreMy wife and I stayed at Hotel Casa do Tua for three nights.|We booked the apartment unit so that we could sit out on the balcony and enjoy several glasses of wine whilst watching the boats go by and taking in the view of the olive trees and the vineyards on the opposite bank.|The unit was extremely clean and the facilities in the kitchen were more than adequate if you wanted to cook you own meal. |José is an exceptional host. We left behind my wife's eBook reader and adaptor by mistake. José contacted us right away and offered to send it to us after first finding out the shipping cost. We reimbursed him via PayPal and the eReader arrived in Canada two weeks later beautifully wrapped. We couldn't have asked for a better response.|Breakfast on the deck in the morning (if you don't want to do your own breakfast) and a swim at the end of the day made for a very relaxing time.||We recommend taking the train to Pinhao - an 18 minute ride at a bargain price - and visiting the Quinta do...

Exceeded my expectations.|It's just across the Street from the railway station, so couldn't be any easier to get to from Porto, Pinhao or wherever (I made the journey from Lisbon by train!).||A very warm welcome on arrival.|| Rooms are quite large and very comfortable. The place is so relaxing and quiet! ||Breakfast is a good selection of cold meats, breads, fruit, yogurt and tasty cooked-2-order scrambled eggs. ||The swimming pool overlooks the Douro and the views are spectacular.
