We visited I love Dao - Casas da Fraga with our family of four, children aged 6 and 2.||The accommodation is clean, modern and comfortable and fits in really well with the surrounding valley. It is so peaceful here, I have never felt so relaxed. ||The facilities are great for a week's stay, pool, bbq, free bike hire, use of a washing machine. The breakfast delivered every morning is a great touch as you don't have to go out to find bread. The communal and well tended vegetable gardens means you can pick and cook within minutes! There are opportunities to meet other guests if you want, good for children especially, but plenty of space if you want to keep to yourselves. ||The local area feels unspoilt and uncommercial. ||We recommend the stand-up paddleboarding and horseriding offered locally, we did both twice. Whilst we didn't cycle, the ecopista cycle route looks great, you can cycle one way downhill and be collected at the other end. Finally swimming at the local river beaches in mild water is a treat. ||The hosts are very friendly and helpful and work hard to make it an enjoyable...
Read moreWhat an exceptional place! Elena was the perfect host. She welcomed us as soon as we arrived and could not have been more helpful during our stay. Recommending things to do and see in the area. Drawing us maps for local walks. She helped us organise a taxi. Nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was truly spotless! We couldn’t even find the tiniest bit of dust! It was so beautiful. A great mix of modern facilities within a beautiful old style simple granite lodge. Fresh coffee always available and the breakfast hamper was delicious, fresh and delivered with care and love!
The swimming pool, although small was perfect for a dip and a swim. Again spotlessly clean and so inviting.
Other facilities included being able to wash your clothes which was a nice touch.
Stunning location looking out across the green valley. Always quiet and peaceful.
We will definitely be coming to stay again. One of the best. Thank you Elena and your...
Read moreMy favourite place to rest in the interior of Portugal. I wold like to highlight the side river and the cascade in the interior of the property (excellent to explore, picnics, walks or read and have a glass of Quinta das Marias wine that I use to buy in the reception our in the wine farm nearby), great pool and sun deck, professional and nice staff, amazing food, excellent apartments, nice beds, great activities provided by them (like horse riding, bike, stand up paddle, sky, walks, charrette) and fare price.||I live in Lisbon and I go there offted during the year. They are always improving the accommodations and the service. ||Nearby there are museums, wine lands and wine farms that you can visit, rural villages, Serra da Estrela, bicycle paths, trails, lakes and other places that you can visit. Ask the staff for help, they are very kind...
