We stayed at this little house as we needed extra space for my daughter and baby. The kitchen facilities had kettle, toaster, microwave and cooker. Free coffee and tea sachets. The bathroom was clean with great shower and hot water and complimentary shower gel and hand soap. It is off the beaten track and the first trip to the house is a bit daunting as you have to cross a barrier controlled train track, then down an uneven mud road and cross a little bridge. After pressing an open button at the gates into the residential part of this farm/Quinta. The view is picturesque and rural and the four little houses look pretty with the terracotta terrace which has a small bistro table and stools. At the back of these houses is a working farm with cows and a horse. In front of these houses is a small but clean swimming pool. The inside of the house has two bedrooms one bedroom has a window but does not open as it backs onto the farm the other bedroom has a high window which gets light from the living/dining room. Both rooms were clean and had ample bedding. The living room/diner had a sofa and chair (slightly dated) table and three chairs and a tv (3 English channels) wifi was sketchy but owner Pedro was helpful and tried best to get wifi working. There were only two down sides for me and that was earwigs marching into house at night under the door (this could be easily fixed) we got rid of about 60 managed to block their passage on 2nd night. There was a faint smell coming from sewerage works (across the road) but this is under going works, but on our last day because of flooding through storms sewerage smell was unbearable. I know it's not the owners fault but if my stay had been like this from day one I wouldn't have been able to stay. Overall nice place to stay if sewerage smell...
Read moreWe very received with a warm welcome from Pedro on the farm. Not very welcoming though was the smell of the sewage plant (they were doing some renovaton or s.th.) next to the farm. We were very surprised then, when he asked us to go back into the car, he would lead us to our quarters. On a rough gravel road he lead the way to a small stone hut almost 2 km away, in the middle of some fishing ponds. We wondered indeed, where he would lead us.||Our llittle studio was Casa Ria, on the edge of the Nature Reserve Casa Ria, a snall workhouse for sthe worker at the ponds.||The studio ist very small and simple. The small kitchen unit is well equipped. The dinig room is open air, breakfast with the rising sun an the grabble and croaking of flamingos, spoonbill, small singing birds, gulls, waders... and many airplanes, heading towards Faro airport. The sitting room is up on the roof. With the excellent whether we had, we just loved being there, always with binoculars at hands.||The disadvantage of this onelyless is, being far away from the pool and the other amenities of the farm.||- bathroom and sleeping room lack of handy shelves or storage place and a drying...
Read moreAs in the photo, if you are a person who likes nature, you will immediately find yourself immersed in a beautiful nature reserve. In just 10 minutes by car from the center, you can walk among olive trees, friendly horses, buffaloes ... an infinite variety of birds to listen to at night and observe during the day. Also if you do not want to move from the property, you can go cycling among the salt flats, horseback riding, play table football, ping pong or relax in the pool. The clean house is equipped with everything. Pedro is infinitely kind and professional, he recommended many places to visit and was there to make sure we did not lack anything. It was a dream to live in the countryside and in a strategic point between Faro, Lagos and Sevilla. Returning to Faro is definitely returning to Pedro....
