Quinta da Fonte is truly a mesmerizing experience. The owners make you feel very welcome and are really looking after all their guests. We have stayed in one of the appartments. Lovely housing, perfectly clean, relaxing surroundings. The environment is breathtaking and it is very nice to be off the grid. This is Portugal at its purest. Then the foods presented by Liedewij, a michelin star should be placed at here stove. What a delicious recipies, and food shared in the way it was meant to be. Laughter, happiness around. I can recommend this site for the non-conforming tourist who believes in taking a true trip into Portugal. Let the experience of two lovely ladies from Quinta da Fonte...

This beautiful, quirky place offers a range of accommodation set away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Our room was cosy and comfortable, with lovely views. The bar area was a homely snug that was a welcome refuge on a cool, damp, winter evening. We switched off our phones and tuned into the sound of birds chirping, the stream tinkling by, and gazed up at the stars. The hosts were amazing and made us feel so welcome, as did their friendly canine companions. The meals were delicious and plentiful, made with skill and love. This place is a little gem, we will return to explore more of the area with its many walks, river beaches, friendly villages and welcoming locals....

I SO recommend this place. We spent one night there on our first night of holidays. Hosts are two Dutch ladies, 5 dogs, 2 cats, as well as goats and hens :) It's an isolated place in the valley. The place consists of various buildings built in lime stone, very authentic. The silence of this place makes you forget everything else and all your trouble ! We slept like babies in our of their double rooms but they also offer glamping, caravans, a little house. So there is what you need, for sure. Pricing is very reasonable, not to say cheap ! Also, dinners and breakfasts are delicious. Go there ! No way you'll regret if you're looking for peace and quiet in the heart...
