The apartment had everything we needed, there is a supermarket near. It was fun to return to a hot shower with a good stream of water. He met us at the guest house when we arrived and showed us everything - he was very approachable and friendly. We booked the larger studio and it was so spacious and despite us booking for late in the year Paulo ensured it was well heated and cosy and warm. We enjoyed the garden and courtyard and visiting cat 'friends' :) Vila Nova Do Ceira is beautiful - just the perfect little village with everything you need literally on the doorstep - cafe, restaurant, pharmacy, butcher, ATM, supermarket all literally within paces of the B&B. So charming, friendly residents and the bells ringing in the church. We ventured out every day but coming 'home' to the B&B with the drive over the mountain road and the welcoming sight of the church of the village there to greet us. We really enjoyed our stay and Paulo was a fabulous host - he was very proud of his accommodation and quite rightly so. We would return in a heartbeat and recommend to...
Read morePortantiqua was an excellent choice for our one night stay while visiting traditional villages of central Portugal. Our family double room was situated on the ground floor of historical stone house in a small village (part of Gois). The parking was on the street in front of the house. We had a view of charming central square and a church. The square was busy in the afternoon, but quiet in the evening. We had a large bedroom (with walk in closet) with comfy bed. TV had a good selection of channels. Kitchen was well equipped and it had a small dining area. The bathroom was situated out of the kitchen. Everything was very tidy and well organized. We could also use the sitting area in the beautifully landscaped garden. The host Paolo was super friendly and helpful, and spoke fluent English. He offered a lot of useful information about hiking in the area. We recommend this accommodation for the comfort and as a good base to explore...
