This was one of the worse traveling experience ever, it was basically a fraud.||I called the owner, a very dishonest person, to ask if we could stay 2 nights instead than one and he said he wasn't sure but to start paying 2 nights and then he was trying to accomodate us. The place was in the middle of nowhere and really nothing special (they took some nice pics of the pool but when you see it it's like a pond with plastic around it). We slept in a very basic hut that actually is adjacent to many others so, funny, it's even noisy because you can feel all your neighbours and don't have any privacy all around. you. Inside there's just a rack in a corner for your clothes (no wardrobe of sort), very cheap Ikea bedside tables and a mattress for kids (like 5cm high). ||Plus- the whole places is completely infested by flies and mosquitos.||We had dinner, it was nice but none inform us of its cost until check out and it was overpriced, like the 'room' (euro 95/ night). ||We asked again if we could stay one night only and the person working there (a truly lovely guy I have to say- really the only positive thing about this place) told us that exceptionally I could have this favour and have the 2' night refund, just to leave my IBAN.||Well, guess what? Of course now if happens that in 3 persons 'we misunderstood' and so I ended up paying euro 200 for this treatment.||Believe me Portugal has plenty of amazing agroturismo with stunning pools, food and service and this is not really what you are searching for!||I'm an interior designer and I travel the world all the time for work or holidays, speak 4 languages and believe me, I know...
Read moreI stayed on Herdade do Brejo da Amada for 3 nights, on early October so after main season was over. The weather however was as good as any summer day, but I quickly came to realize that everything just stops in Herdade do Brejo da Amada after the main season is over. ||I would like to state that none of the following information was related to me in any way before I payed and arrived at the hotel:||- The way to Brejo da Amada is absolutely terrible, if you are driving a sports car / small car you will face around 5kms of VERY rugged terrain, with holes and mud and everything you can think of, with absolutely no lighting||- On room amenities there is supposed to be wi-fi in every room, well I booked a suite and guess what? No wi-fi, no cellphone reception inside the rooms, zilch, nada. The worst of all? When I inquired the manager about it he simply shrugged it off and said there was no wi-fi reception on that room. Unbelievable.||- The Main pool that you see on all the pictures? yeah completely closed off, options are some smallish pools 10 minute walk distance away.||- Hotel restaurant closed ; no hair dryer in the rooms ; Un-interesting breakfast ; millions of insects everywhere ; list goes on and on..||Overall, it was a poor experience, one I do not intend to repeat. Highlight of the trip was the kindness of our host Sara, and the loveliness of the surrounding areas.||My tip? Stay away and...
Read moreWe had a traumatic experience in our 1st night in this property - Aug.2018 - we were terrified by a stranger/psycho trespassing, violating our privacy and almost getting into our room through the back deck of the house. The wood houses are quite exposed and isolated , which could actually be a positive thing, if it wasn't for the fact that it's simply too dark at night (pitch black) , with no movement detector light system or any other security at all. We were also told by a regular visitor that it was not the first time that something like this had happened. The owner reacted in a very inappropriate and strange manner and decided did not assume any responsibility whatsoever, also not showing any intention of doing anything in order to avoid a similar episode in the future. Hence, we decided to file a complaint with the police. There is an ongoing...
