We reserved our reservations to this hotel months in advance. We were immediately taken in by the hotels' website photos and reviews of the resort and the rooms looked beautiful but were misleading. One review that we noticed mentioned the rooms could use some updating. We specifically booked a villa because based on the pictures it was nicely decorated with a room downstairs for our two teenager children and a private room with a bathroom upstairs for us. When we arrived the hotel staff barely welcomed us. The parking is minimum on the hotel lot on each space is extremely tight for each car. There is a second lot on the sand right outside the hotel but most people parked on the sidewalks and driveway corners instead of walking a few feet back to the hotel from the second lot. While there I even witnessed a hotel guest asking for assistance because their car was hit while parked in the hotel lot and the hotel employee was not helpful nor did he seem to care. He matter of factly informed the guest that the cameras did not work well and there was nothing they could do to help. Back to the room, in walking in it smelled of old towels or moisture. We couldn't figure out why the lights and the electricity weren't working. We called the front desk and we're informed that a hotel room key would need to be inserted into a panel by the front door in order to turn on the electricity. Something that should have been explained to us upon arrival. This includes the air conditioners that barely worked and the one in our room upstairs would leak on a daily basis while on overnight. The kitchen was literally out of the 1960s with outdated stove top and range. There were no dishes/cups/silverware or paper towels. The fridge was in a wooden cabinet that had to be closed tight to avoid being left open. the televisions in each room was no bigger then a 22inches and all 32 channels had horrible reception. This brings me to the wifi connection. It was the worst wifi connection we had experienced in the entire time we were in Portugal. Every are of the hotel had a different wifi network and once you step into one area you had to reconnect to another wifi area which would take several times or tires before you could connect and by that time you were already in another part of the hotel that no longer accepted the wifi. For example, while in the room you could try two different wifi networks if you left your room you are now disconnected from the wifi. Once in the lobby you could connect to another wifi network and it would work until oyou walked down the hall to the hotel restaurant where you now no longer have that wifi connection. The restaurant where you now no longer have that wifi connection. The restaurant had no wiif. Back to our bedroom upstairs. The bathroom was semi renovated but had visual mold on the tiles and rust along the shower door. Although we had a maid service us every day and we got fresh towels they were small and rough. There was a rusted, molded metal top in the middle of the bathroom floor that was broken and kept popping open. The pool area was nice but also needed some updating. The pool chairs were all dirty and old so the strength of the fabric was stretched out and uncomfortable when sitting in. Overall I would not rebook a vacation here but the place does have potential to be a really nice...

This is a very sad place to go to. I tried to make the most of my holiday with my family and overlook all the small errors, mistakes and so called "misunderstandings" but the service is just Terrible!! I cannot believe how bad our experience was! May I just say that this is my second attempt to make a review here as it has been flagged. So I will copy & paste my initial review which has been removed. "This is our 3rd night here and I am literally in tears! My husband hates it and the kids cannot wait to leave. We booked for a 4Star hotel near the beach, by the 1st night it was clear this is definatly not a 4Star.... Where do I start??? The place is understuffed, working up to 16 hours straight.... the cleaner is so tired and had no shame expressing it when I approached her to let her know my son had wet the bed... ( she did not clean the room as I felt so sorry for her) the plates, cups, are dirty at meal times. The staff is not friendly at all as it is clear they are under a lot of pressure. The last drop for me was when my son aged 4 cut his toes on the children’s pool as there are tiles missing, another child got hurt and was bleeding from her feet.

My 4 year old son has cut 2 of his toes on the children's pool and when I approached reception I was given "excuses" and my issue/complain was quickly dismissed. The person whom I spoke with I think the managers name was Andre, he told me August is very busy for them, they have 90 rooms and if I am not happy that is my own issue as they cannot satisfy everyone.!! ( Wow) At this point I was in tears, was told to contact the agency I booked with and that the agency is responsible, not them (as in the hotel isn’t responsible) He didn't asked me how bad the cuts were, if my son was alright, not even offered me a plaster or a first aid kit. Instead proceeded to tell me how satisfied other clients are whilst I was in tears due to my son being hurt and him and the hotel not taking any accountability.

this is a terrible hotel and I did not get what I paid and was promised.

I am still here trying to find another solution, the hotel has told the agency via e-mail that my son wasn’t even hurt & I actually have photograph proof of it along with the lack of hygiene I have a video where I washed a clean glass I was given however it is not uploading. I will never come back here, neither would I advise it to anybody else! Any hotel can have things that are not up to scratch but when the service is about covering their backs showing no regard for the actual clients staying there- This place should be...

We booked to stay here as a last minute booking so were limited in the room availability which we understood. When we arrived to check in at 1pm we were greeted by a surly girl on reception who informed us check in was 3pm but try in an hour to see if the room was available. We tried at 2pm to be met with one word "no". At 3pm we eventually were able to check in after she had a bit of trouble trying to contact housekeeping. I realise the hotel has a time to check in but when you have arrived on a flight you don't have much choice in the time you get to the hotel and after travelling for 12 hours all you need is to change and unpack!||Our room was very clean, plenty of space with an adequate sized balcony. There was a fridge which was useful for keeping drinks, water etc cool. There was no kettle which is the first time we've never had one in a hotel room, we could probably have requested one but managed without.||The hotel is in a lovely location on a cliff top overlooking the sea. To get to the nearest beach is a 10 minute walk turning right from the hotel front and down a steep road. To visit the town of Carvoeiro there is a 20 minute walk turning left from the hotel front, there is a shuttle bus which you pre-book if you want to avoid walking. It seems a shame that this only runs in the day to approx 5pm as it would be very useful in the evenings also. We walked back a few evenings, the road is a steep road, you could take a taxi if required.||The breakfast buffet was good, plenty of choice. We ate in the restaurant on two occasions in the evening, again it was a buffet, great value with plenty of choice.||There is a spa and indoor pool. Also 2 outdoor pools and a small one for children. The water was freezing so they would benefit from being heated. Lovely views of the sea from the garden and pool area. It was nice and quiet when we stayed so plenty of choice of sunbeds. The garden was a nice spot to sit in if you wanted shade from the sun.||I've read previous reviews regarding the staff and I have to say certain staff members looked very unhappy being there which made an awkward experience when they served you and other staff were so pleasant so there was quite a mix depending on who served you!||I believe that the hotel is closing for a few months and it will be reopening as a 5* hotel. There are a few areas that need improving. The sun beds are quite old and uncomfortable, the building is quite dated and could do with an improvement or two but overall it is fine and we...

Sorry to say this review is going to be far from positive. Stayed here Early October 2022 on a 4 night long-weekend booked as a package through Jet2 ( who I generally find to be a solid company). The room initially allocated was basic, tired and scruffy. We had a leak under the toilet pan and the shower was poor ( basic climb into the bath effort, and it had no power). The pointing around the bath was mouldy and the shower screen could not be adjusted. Also, we had a view of the car-park. However, the craziest aspect of this room was that the room had a step down from one half to the other. Needless to say in the middle of the night as I went to use the loo I fell over and damaged my knee. The room is dangerous and not suitable for elderly ( which I am not....ish!) Upon complaint to Jet2 we were moved rooms; to a far superior room. However, on our first day in this second room upon our return around 3pm the room had not been cleaned. My wife spoke with reception and we were assured the maids work till 5pm and it would be cleaned etc,. We returned to the room at 5.10pm and it still hadn't been done. I attended reception to complain and was met with a supercilious young man at the desk who found the whole thing quite amusing and couldn't see my issue ( I could name him, but that is being dealt with through Jet2). I was staggered by his attitude. Location-wise the hotel is a 15-20 minute walk to the first restaurants and roughly 30 min walk to the centre of Carvoiero. Be wary if booking this hotel through Jet2 and be sure what you are paying for. Basically, I'd give this hotel a miss.

The hotel has a great external space and location! The swimming pool is really nice, most of the staff is very friendly and helpful. The games room is very pleasant with good options of games to play in couple or with kids (games are paid individually, though). Dinner offered in the restaurant is a buffet with several options and the price is ok, but I missed more vegetarian options. There is a free shuttle from hotel to Carvoeiro city center and vice-versa which is really handy. The SPA is well decorated and gives several options of relaxing: massages, sauna, Turkish bath and others. There is also an indoor pool and a jacuzzi, but a swimming cap is mandatory. This is not informed beforehand (e.g. in the website) and the hotel sells it for 5 euros. However, some items need attention and/or improvements: the hotel is older than shown in the pictures: new painting and furniture would make it nicer and modern. Wardrobes are noise and smelly. Beds are uncomfortable. The evening shows are a good attraction for some people, but it could start and end earlier. Several times artists were playing till 23:30 and the volume was very loud considering the number of people watching it. Although the restaurant closes at 22:00, if you arrive after 21:00 most of the tables are not prepared anymore and part of staff is already preparing the restaurant for breakfast which is a bit annoying. Gym is really small, very, very hot inside and smelly. Airco or windows that can be open to refresh the gym would really help people to stay there.

This has been one of the most disappointing stays I've had at a hotel. I'm a Flight Attendant so that's saying a lot. Our room had mold in bath tub, plumbing that leaks all over the floor, the sink doesn't drain. The Twin beds don't stay together so your at risk of slipping through the crack. The beds were very uncomfortable (spring mattress) When we complained too the front desk they said we could pay a 50 euro fee to change rooms. Apparently some rooms have been updated. I found the hotel dated and in need of repair. Pool chairs are broken and horribly uncomfortable. Mold and rust to be seen everywhere. Oh and don't sit under the dilapidated pergola/gazebo is smells of sewage. The bartender inattentive. Wait staff & Cleaning staff was very friendly and attentive. The path to the beach is an advanced hike down the side of a cliff. (Don't follow the sign that says (beach) unless you enjoy cliff diving. Pretty view though.
