O Zimbreiro — Hotel in Lajes do Pico

We absolutely loved this inn and in our opinion this should receive a 5 star rating. Jeremy and Anne are exceptional hosts. This inn felt like we were in a botanical garden gorgeous plants . Their grounds and plantings are well manicured. Much love and care is provided for all these exotic plants and flowers to survive and thrive. Jeremy is an exceptional chef and Anne makes delectable pastries ,breads and jams. Their food is Micheline quality.I only wish they provided dinners every night instead of every other night. The pool setting is really beautiful and the two horses rooming their pasture makes it picture perfect. You can see the ocean from the terrace where you can enjoy your meal . Our cottage was so beautiful with the king size bed and large sail boat above our bed. We fell a sleep hearing the oven waves at night and the birds in the morning.We felt relaxed and well cared for. The customer service this couple provided was exceptional and you could tell they really cared for their guests . We also fell in love with their American bull dog puppy Baia who was so friendly. The main house and cottages are beautifully decorated and reflect the essence of this island. We enjoyed meeting Jeremy's father who lives down the street he is an artist .We bought a beautiful hand carved whales tail statue from him .You must visit his shop.I usually do not write such a long review but wanted to share this wonderful experience with other people You...

Abbiamo trascorso 4 giorni da Annelise e Jeremy e quello che possiamo dire è che siamo rimasti più che soddisfatti. La prima notte l'abbiamo passata in una delle camere superior ( quella che era disponibile al momento della prenotazione) visibile sul sito, tutta nei colori del rosso marrone, curata nei minimi dettagli, poi dal giorno successivo abbiamo occupato una piccola "adega", ci eravamo fidati della proposta, in quanto non era visibile sul sito, vedendo tutto ciò che proponevano non abbiamo pensato che non potesse essere all'altezza di tutto il resto, ed infatti abbiamo fatto benissimo!!! un piccolo nido " atlantico" eh si : ingresso, camera e bagno tutti arredati in bianco e blu, con armadio che richiama le cabine stile anni 50, fari, conchiglie e fuori dalla casetta di pietra due sdraio a ns disposizione, circondate da alberi di banane, e altra vegetazione tipica azzorriana. La notte i rumori che si sentono sono soltanto quelli della "natura" il resto è "silenzio". E poi il mattino colazione sulla veranda della casa patronale con gli altri ospiti, se ci si incontra... e mentre ti gusti i dolci fatti in casa da Annelise e marmellate, pane fatti da Jeremy, formaggio fresco, frutta ecc..lo sguardo si perde guardando l'oceano, il giardino fiorito e molto curato con la piscina, un risveglio ed un inizio giornata splendido. Gli ospiti sono carinissimi, gentili e attenti alle esigenze di tutti e sempre a disposizione. Abbiamo partecipato ad una sola cena, e Jeremy è davvero un cuoco con la C maiuscola ( guardate nel sito la tavola apparecchiata ed è così che la troverete) Annelise propone vini e presenta ogni piatto in modo molto raffinato. Complimenti davvero !! a tutti quelli che sono indecisi possiamo soltanto dire che non si troveranno pentiti, l'unico consiglio è quello di noleggiare un'auto, in quanto il posto è abbastanza isolato sia per girare l'isola che per spostarvi a mangiare le sere che Jeremy non cucina. Buon soggiorno a tutti !!! p.s. molto importante : ovviamente non possiamo non nominare i genitori di Jeremy che hanno un laboratorio di ceramiche molto caratteristico e affrettatevi a scegliere il vostro pezzo preferito, noi siamo dovuti partire senza "balena" in quanto vanno a ruba ... pezzi unici e particolari.
