Magnolias Cottage — Hotel in Lousã

Me and my partner stayed with Maria in her beautiful cottage for 3 nights in September. This was during the covid pandemic, but we felt very safe and well looked after. There was hand sanitizer in the room and around the accommodation and Maria wore a mask during breakfast time. |The room was clean, a good size and had everything we needed - air con, shower facilities, outside seating. There is also lovely garden with a hammock to relax in. | |Maria who runs the cottage is extremely accommodating and friendly, she gave us loads of great tips for good restaurants in the area as well as places to visit. |There are 4 pets at the property, 2 dogs and 2 cats, none of which came in our rooms, or communal areas or bothered us during our stay. They are well behaved and friendly.||We loved our stay and we would definitely return....

Tout d’abord je dois dire que l’accueil fût très chaleureuse, notre hôte- Maria c’est si bien occupée de nous , un porto à la main et un gâteau de l’autre. Sa maison est un petit coin de paradis, le terrain est très bien entretenu et nous pouvons s’assoir et contempler ses arbres fruitiers et la vue incroyable. Par la suite, la maison est rénovée avec goût afin de maintenir l’aspect ancestral. La chambre est très confortable, jolie et à un merveilleux balcon. Nous avons déjeuner comme des rois et nous avons aussi décidé de prendre le souper que Maria offre à prix très raisonnable. Nous avons mangé un met traditionnel à la base de chèvre pour cette soirée, elle a une beau menu diversifié à tous les jours. Ce repas se classe parmi les meilleurs que nous avons mangé depuis les deux dernières semaines. Maria nous a fourni d’excellent conseils au niveau des restaurants locaux, des endroits à visiter et même fourni de l’aide à réserver mes futurs endroits pour Douro- Porto. Ce fût difficile de dire au revoir et nous ne pouvons qu’espérer que plusieurs d’entre- vous aller lire ces commentaires et en profiter également. Merci beaucoup Maria, tu nous manques déjà et bon succès! I have to say that right from the start Maria, the owner offered us a nice Porto and a delicious cake. The house and the yard is magnificent and so charming. Everything is well maintained and when I say everything I mean everything, the exterior, balcony, terrace, nice and cozy bedroom, incredible living room and patio facing the mountains. The breakfasts were delicious, plenty of food all prepared by her and Helena, the tomato jam is to die for. We have decided to book a dinner at Maria’s place, this was one of the most delicious meal that we have ate for the last two weeks travelling, she makes her own Olive oil, olives from her garden and a wonderful traditional goat meal. It was hard to say Goodbye and hope that you will enjoy it as much as we did. Wish you all the best Maria!...

We booked this room instead of going to a hotel. We chose: wisely.||||D.Maria da Graça is such a wonderful person with a bubbling personality. We felt right at home and her cottage is decorated with great care and is amazing.||||The breakfast was awesome. Good bread, good jam and fresh eggs from a nearby farm.||||Outside, don't miss the swing above the house and lose yourself in the amazing views it has to offer. ||||A great experience that you will want...
