A family run business with no business sense. What they promised us and what they delivered were not the same. I wish we never came across the hotel or decided to host our big day there. ||||The 'catering' team was made up of the cleaner as the cook and 4 waiters! We had 85 guests. ||||We had visited the property 3 times during the year before the wedding, and had been staying on the property for a whole week prior to the wedding but they chose our wedding day to discuss final payments! ||They locked guests in from leaving on the wedding night even though they were not staying on the property, insisting that we hadn't paid. They forced us to settle all payment on the day of the wedding. ||THEY RUINED THE ONE DAY WE WORKED SO HARD TOWARDS AND WAITED SO LONG FOR!||||The venue is beautiful but for a 4* star hotel, they cater nothing. There is an on-site restaurant which is never open, the cook is also the cleaner. The food is what you expect from a basic cafe not a 4* hotel. They have only a few staff who are made to run everything for this massive property.||||The rooms - have amenities like a kettle, stove and microwave but no basics provided, like tea or coffee, not exactly 4* star. The rooms do not contain an iron, the hotel says they have a ironing facility at reception. They charged my guests €20 to 'steam' their suits, when in fact they were ironed by the receptionist. ||||The pillows have not been replaced in along time and are extremely uncomfortable.||The sheets are wearing thin and clearly visible. They do not invest any money into the property for its up keep. ||||We had the entire property booked for a week to host our wedding, they promised to have enough staff to cater for the 60+ people however the same person who ran the bar also looked after reception. The bar and reception are not next to each other, so reception was constantly closed when needed.||||The breakfast is below standard, with shop bought pastries which are not very nice. We love Portugal they have amazing breads and pastry, yet what they serve is no reflection of that.||||The are a family run business who are looking to make...
Read moreStayed at the property for a friend's wedding and the owners had treated the staff and guests with disrespect. They had limited staff which meant that the same person was working in the reception, helping people to their rooms and serving guests breakfast. I felt so sorry for the one staff member doing everything. The property also claims to be a 4 star when it is possibly a 2 star by my stands. We checked into our suite and there was no coffee but there was a coffee maker, there was no tea, no sugar and no water... no basic amenities in the room yet it was promised and when we asked for some sugar to add to my daughter's cereal and we were told that it was not part of our package. On the wedding day I rang to ask for wine glasses or champagne glasses for the bridal party and was told they have no wine glasses and showed up with normal glasses for us. How can they not have any wine glasses? Also, the restaurant was closed and guests could not get any food so we had to call local restaurants to deliver or get a taxi into town, yet they say they have a restaurant but what good is a restaurant without food, staff and cook. And to top it off on the wedding day they wouldn't let guests out and locked the gates. This place is badly run by the owners of the property who clearly don't want to spend money...
Read moreNice hotel with 2 parts. Main hotel and the cottages some 5 minutes away from the main building. Both nice. Main building is a bit more modern. Rooms next to the dining place/reception are spacious. We were looking for the TV where we wanted to connect our computer. At first could not find it but it's behind the "mirror". Nice design idea but could not connect our cable :-). Clean and overall friendly staff though with some ladies smiling and some a bit less :-). Wellness out of order unfortunately. Gym was open. A lot of space outdoor and very pleasant when the weather is nice. The only thing which was rather poor value was the food (both breakfast and dinner). Perhaps it was because we were there with a group and they tried to save costs, don't know. Not bad but not the quality you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Overall a good place. Supermarket Mercadona within some 10 minutes by foot. A lot of green around and make sure you check the nice portugese church and residence connected to the main...
