We stayed here for 3 nights. There is no denying that the facility is very clean but there were a few things that we weren’t satisfied with.||There are two wifi’s available. The one in the common areas requires a password and occasionally it wouldn’t work for us. The wifi in the cabins does not require a password and would only work less than 50% of the time. This was very frustrating considering there are no TV’s anywhere in facility either. We could only read so much!||There is no A/C in the rooms either, only a ceiling fan, which did suffice sometimes but most times we had to keep the door open in order to get any sort of breeze. This didn’t help a lot though because the weather was quite warm Aug 24-27th. We found the room to be very dark even during the day and often had to use the lights from the kitchenette and bathroom to see. There is a light in the ceiling fan but it wasn’t enough. ||The pool was small and not very inviting. We didn’t see any others using it either.||The village is a 2km walk, and mostly uphill coming back.||We decided against having dinner here at their restaurant Atmosphera because although it gets good reviews, the entire menu was vegetarian with the exception of a ham shank. We were wanting fish and seafood selections. We spoke with a couple that had eaten there the night before and said their meal was only so-so, not very flavourful and expensive at $35 euro/person.||Breakfast was very nice but we think it should begin at 7am rather than 8-9:30 for early risers like ourselves, although they will pack you a breakfast if you have an early start.||Overall the place was quite nice and tranquil but we wouldn’t stay here again. The staff was very friendly and the service at breakfast...

UPDATE: 27 Oct. 2025: I appreciate the reply.

A clean, quiet place; although isn’t that a basic expectation of any hotel or lodging?

The rooms are comfortable enough, but spartan in atmosphere. The chairs on the porch are the most uncomfortable in existence.

The “free breakfast“ is a complete joke. A few rolls, some margarine, juice, a slice each of cheese and highly processed lunch meat. And this was for two people. Must have cost about 2 Euros to put together, if that. Extra Keurig coffee capsules will cost you 25 cents each.

No phone (not like that’s terrible), no air conditioner and a very loud fan for when it’s hot and muggy. Which is often.

And don’t plan on eating dinner if you arrive Tuesday, or Wednesday because the on-site restaurant is closed. Any other place is a drive or taxi ride away. How does a restaurant succeed when it’s open just five days a week? I guess they figure people aren’t hungry the other two days. Exceptionally poor policy that clearly thumbs their nose at hotel guests. That said, the food rises to the level of good, but nothing more.

Lacking basic amenities, this place takes itself away too seriously. It’s a bed for the night with a bathroom and a porch.

And the supposed passion of the owners for being environmentally sensitive? Total garbage. If they really cared they wouldn’t put Keurig coffee makers in every room. The plastic coffee capsule these are not at...

Alma do Pico is a gorgeous location to stay for a few days and explore the beautiful island of Pico. ||The bungalow with a small kitchen was clean and comfortable. There was a dehumidifier available, which was not a luxury at all. The humidity was very high during our stay. We appreciated the fact that there was a drying rack in the bungalow. The bathroom was clean, but the shower lacked a handheld shower head. I was not a big fan of the spring mattress, so I slept not as well as I would have hoped for.||Since we were staying in a forest environment we did spot some cockroaches in the bungalow. I guess it is very hard to get rid of these little animals. The bungalow also had a small terrace with some chairs. The wifi sadly was not very good.||We could park our car at the reception building and had to walk a few minutes to our bungalow. The breakfast was served at the table in the reception building and was very good. There were different breakfast options available. ||Alma do Pico also has a laundry service, which was very convenient. The restaurant Atmosfera is very good and the service in general is very friendly and welcoming.||We enjoyed the pool and the beautiful adjoining terrace where we could relax after a day of...

The hosts are very kind and the breakfast is well taken care off. You have quite some things to choose from as well as that the eggs are prepared for you upon request and they are done very nicely. The garden is also very green and nice as well as that the room we had had good privacy even when sitting outside. However we did not really enjoy the room. It also wasn't cleaned well. They did extra cleaning upon our request but many things remained uncleaned. It rained quite a lot during our stay so we had to spend more time indoors than we would have liked but the room didn't really allow for that. The seats are uncomfortable and the lighting is poor. The outdoor seats do have a little roof; but rain pours through it so you can't really sit there is its wet. Also, you hear almost everything your neighbours are doing. Another negative for us is that the shower only runs by pressing a button; and it then runs for only 6 seconds. Meaning for a brief shower of 3 min you are pressing that button abt 30 times. It's good to care about water usage, but I'd say there are better and more comfortable ways of doing that.

We stayed three nights in this hotel. +Staff is really friendly, especially during breakfast we had the best service ever on the azores so far, thanks a lot. We had a fridge in the room which we really enjoyed! Free parking spots and a pool available. -Personally I did not really like the room concept as we could hear the neighbours (butterfly house). Due to mosquitos (yes you are in the forest) we could not leave the windows/door open to get fresh air during the night = really warm and humid inside the room (only two small windows, one in the kitchen, one in the bath had the mosquito nets). Its a new option with the push-button (water for 20'', room 2L) in the shower, but as I guest I did not feel comfortable with that!! -When we checked-in we were told that all slots for lunch/dinner are already fully booked during our stay. I was not sure if that was just the case now or always. Anyway it was a pitty. So for dinner we went three time to the Cella Bar, where we did not need any reservation :-).
