Inatel Manteigas — Hotel in Manteigas

The Inatel Manteigas is out towards the SE side of the town of Manteigas. It’s not where Google map says where it is. The hotel is a little dated and repair and renovation is needed especially the exterior. The rooms in the main building are of good size and the ones in front have a good view of the town and the mountains around it. As I mentioned already the hotel has been around for awhile and it shows. Many features in our room have been updated though – hardwood floor, good size flat screen TV, new bathroom fixtures\showers, comfortable bed. Front desk staff are pleasant and helpful, especially this guy Carlos. He went way out of his way to help us. Breakfast is good and is included in the room rate. They serve a buffet dinner too but we found that a bit pricey for the type of food you get. You can do better somewhere else in town for the same...

The staff are all very friendly and efficient. The hotel is located near a beautiful stream a couple of kms from Manteigas that you can see in the distance. The grounds are beautifully kept. Contrary to what appears on the hotel website, the swimming pool and the gym are not in the main building and are not included in the price. There is a special rate for 3 times one-hour use of the pool of 22.50 euros per person. Our room was large and comfortable. The furniture was basic and the bathroom fixtures antiquated. It was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was basic, but all right if one does not need eggs and fresh coffee. The buffet supper was really mediocre. The wifi did not work very well in the room, but...

The hotel has one main building and at least 2 more separated buildings with rooms, i stayed at the "Roda" building which was a 5 min walk from the main building, this might be a nuisance during rainy and snowy days because the breakfast is only served at the main building, so i do advise for stays at the main building preferentially.||If you have to stay in the "Roda" building and you have a light sleep, you might find inconvenient that it is located next to a river so the sound of water running is a constant||The breakfast was good, it was a buffet, it wasn't the most diversed but still it was enough.||There is no Wifi in the "Roda" building.||Overall i think the...
