Booked the QSB for two nights for a surprise proposal with my girlfriend as part of a larger 8 day vacation in Portugal. Everything about the QSB was STUNNING and professional. When deciding where to book our two night stay in the Douro, a few places stood out but none like the QSB. From the moment that I booked our rooms, the staffing were nothing but incredibly helpful in ensuring months in advance that we would have the private dock reserved for our engagement session, and helped to coordinate with my photographer to take pictures of the engagement. When we arrived, a staff member kindly picked us up from the local train station (which was a super easy and very scenic ride from the main station in Porto) and drove us on a golf cart to QSB. The rooms were immaculate, and every staff member was so kind and truly made you feel special. It was very clear that the staff at QSB try to make sure all guests feel like they have a very personal experience, given there are only ~8 or so rooms / other couples on the property at a time. The food was delicious and there are multiple options for meals, including a gourmet and very fresh breakfast bar each morning, a huge lunch menu prepared fresh daily, and dining options in the restaurant and greenhouse each night. My fiancée and I also used the other amenities, including the spa, gym, kayaks and pool, and had a private picnic on the boat dock. The proposal went better than I could have planned it, and all the staff members and others guests that saw it happen were super congratulatory and kind. If you are looking for a few night stay in the Douro, look no further than the QSB. Please be kind to the property, clean up after yourself, and be nice to others while there. It is the most beautiful place I have ever stayed, and we will most definitely be back in a few years. Thank you to the entire QSB staff for making our engagement magical, and the QSB and its entire staff will always have a special place...

The Quinta is impeccably and tastefully designed. It features a good-size infinity pool (albeit a bit too cold to fully enjoy during our stay) with comfortable loungers, a beautiful patio where you can have a drink amongst fruit trees, interior dining space, exterior balcony dining space, tasting room and family room with a pool table, large TV, and games. You can roam through the vineyards and along the river, and even take out SUPs or kayaks (no charge). There is a fire pit and an area with chickens and goats! You can pet them! This is the best!!
The wine they make there was the best that we tried in the Douro Valley and was very good value. We will look into getting this shipped to the UK! The food was amazing. The dinners are set 3 course meals (35 euros) with an optional wine pairing (25 euros), which we did both nights. The included breakfast had a large spread of options and even fresh juices, espresso drinks, and an egg station.
The staff was just amazing. The clean up and turn-down service was always on-point and really appreciated, and they even left rosemary cookies each night. The dining staff were attentive and accommodating to anyone with dining restrictions. The master wine maker was there during dinner service to tell you more about the wines and make recommendations.
We got a very nice upgrade to the private pool suite, which was just gorgeous. The bed and pillows were the best I've slept on in a hotel. The room included a wine fridge stocked with their wines (not for free, but it was very convenient). They include shampoo, conditioner, and soap that they make themselves in the bathroom. The remote control blackout blinds worked very well. The view out of the large floor to ceiling windows was beautiful. You can sit on your private deck with a glass on wine...

From the prompt pickup at their cute Train Stop (Ricardo our driver was so nice and took care of us throughout the trip) to the welcoming check-in from Diego to the extensive and fun wine tasting to our gorgeous river view villa to the scrumptious dinner prepared by chef Miguel and served with love and passion from the friendliness staff (Rita and others) you could say that day one was a hit!|The activities were carefully planned and organized and we absolutely loved the wine tasting trip that included a lunch recommendation at Six Senses. We also booked an hour boat ride (with a glass of QSB bubbles) on the Douro. Ruben our guide/skipper was perfect. We also did the Chef's table and Chef Miguel was outstanding. They accommodated my Vegan diet throughout our stay....NEVER repeating a dish! The Chef's Table is intimate and we met a nice couple...a very relaxing setting. You must do the wine pairing! We also booked the Garden House dinner that was unique and delicious. |The Staff is top notch: You'll get to know these fine people as they share responsibilities. By the end of the trip be prepared to feel a little sad...you really get to know them and they care about your stay in a genuine and authentic way.|The scenery is killer. The river with the clouds or the sun or just being a part of the grounds...you're in another world. |The Villas (only two) are spacious and have everything you need. The pool was refreshing and there's nothing better than cracking open one of their wines and letting your mind wonder. |Life is short...book this farmhouse...you...
