We absolutely loved our month-long stay at the Secret Garden. John and Jo are so welcoming and kind, and were able to give us recommendations and help us form connections in the area. They were even happy to give us a ride into town now and then, which was so generous!
Our month flew by with fresh figs from the fig tree outside, sweet visits from the resident cats, and even a big weekend festival in the little town. The land here is beautiful and we enjoyed being able to work our remote jobs from the outdoor kitchen and various areas around the yard. The bunk bed was not really comfortable enough for us to use (perhaps for a smaller kiddo they'd be fine) but we were able to make do with the double bed - and our cat loved having his own bed because of it!

Located in a quiet traditional Portuguese village with narrow streets and ancient olive trees It is approached through an old wrought iron gate over which a large wisteria twists and is surrounded by beautiful, romantically planted gardens. I would imagine this place would make an excellent writers or artists retreat but works well for families as well.
