Herdade da Serrinha — Hotel in Montemor-o-Novo

Wonderful stay, lovely family, lovely dogs, proper traditional farm which was great after coming up from the Algarve. Pedro was great and couldn't be more helpful even taking the kids up through the fields on tour to explain all about the cork trees and showed them the black pigs which they still talk about. He'd also join us for a beer at night in the lovely courtyard and provided a good insight into the area.||This is very much a place to do nothing and just relax at the pool and enjoy the traditional surroundings, its not uncommon to have the odd chicken dander past while sitting at the pool edge!, its about half an hour from Evora which is a good day out and there's a few interesting megalithic sites on the way although it was always great to return in the evening and have a few drinks and enjoy the great locally themed home made food. ||Wish we'd stayed a few more nights.||All the best to Pedro and family from Gary,...

My wife and I began our second honeymoon in Portugal by staying at this farm hotel with Helena, the manager, Rogerio her farmer dad, and Pedro, her fiance. I begin with them because even though the Herdade served great food and offered lovely surroundings, they were absolutely the best part of our journey to Portugal. We seldom left the dinner table less than 3 hours after sitting down. Our hosts were welcoming, warm, funny, and intelligent, and made us feel at home from the moment we drove to the entrance. On the first day, Helena told us to to let her know about anything we might need and she kept her promise, often doing more than any guest should expect. She conducted dinner conversations in multiple languages like a musical conductor. She helped book our tours and even negotiated a refund for us in Lisbon. We will definitely be back, and hopefully with the rest...

PROS||- General cleanness: just perfect about cleanness;||- Sleeping quality: quiet nights, great sleeping quality;||- Restaurants and bars: great homemade food available, great to have a good lunch beside the fantastic swimming pool;||- The surroundings: this farm beside the bedrooms and the great large swimming pool and the small one to toddlers, also has animals, and a long pedestrian path available to enjoy nature. Also bicycles available.||- Location: a 20 minutes away from the town, it's far enough to enjoy nature and relax, close enough to go for dinner in town if you wish.||- Service/staff: amazingly friendly and helpful, fantastic!||- Breakfast: great local and quality products, fantastic breakfast||||CONS ||nothing I can say||||DO I WILL RETURN?||oh yes, I hope...
