We spent a wonderfully relaxed family holiday here. The property is clean and well-maintained, and João and his staff are always attentive, making sure that guests feel welcome and comfortable.

The well-kept pool, together with the beautiful old traditional farmhouses, forms a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing ensemble.

What sets the south of Portugal apart from the rest of the southern Iberian Peninsula, in terms of climate, are the relatively cool summer nights (sometimes below 20°C) – despite daytime temperatures reaching 30–35°C. The proximity to the Atlantic clearly makes itself felt here – perfect for a good night’s sleep.

The rooms are equipped with air conditioning anyway. We absolutely loved this refreshing “summer night coolness.”

Thanks to the relative proximity to Lisbon and Évora, we took the opportunity to go on a couple of day trips. In addition to exploring the Alfama district in Lisbon, we were also impressed by Évora’s beautiful historic center.

Montemor-o-Novo, which is close by, was convenient for supermarket shopping – and the castle ruins on the hill there are also well worth a visit.

To conclude, I’d like to say that the Alentejo, with its vast, gently rolling landscapes dotted with cork oaks, olive trees, and pines, is the “beautiful unknown” of Portugal. Anyone seeking to slow down will find what they’re looking for in this unspoiled region and among its warm,...

We had a wonderful three-week stay at Herdade do Vidigal. Joao and Teresa came to greet us personally and were incredibly thoughtful and attentive throughout our entire stay. The farm is tucked away in the middle of nature, offering an exceptional sense of peace and quiet — especially when lounging by the pool. We will definitely be coming back next year,...

Perfeito!
