This is a very pleasant hotel to stay at. Having been built in the 60s, still has what feels like some original decor, but has been maintained and is very clean inside. The outside pool area is nice, although the pool itself was far too cool to go in unfortunately, the sea was however, much warmer! There are some area on the outside of the property such as the sun lounging platform and a tennis court that have not been maintained and have gone to waste. Access to these would have improved our stay. Regarding vegan options, there was a delightful vegetable soup and a very nice quinoa dish. There were also some vegan bar snacks, however, we did not have time to sample these. The mojitos there are not served as long drinks, however they are still delicious. The persons who work at the hotel are all very friendly and helpful, and professional. I will say, if you are one to walk to other restaurants etc. in the evenings after having a drink, bare in mind that this hotel is greater than walking distance from most places. We were able to bet a taxi or uber on these occasions. If you are looking for relaxation, there are plenty of areas to do so at the hotel. Make sure you sunbathe in the mornings, as the winds can get high in the afternoons. Overall, I would re-visit this hotel and probably pay the additional cost to enjoy one of the rooms with a panoramic view, to make the most out of the stunning views this hotel provides.

It’s a beautiful 60s hotel with incredibly well preserved features and very classy updates to the common rooms. But the bedrooms could do with a little bit of the same… The dining room is fantastic, such delicious local food prepared with style and served with taste. The staff are all welcoming and super helpful (shout out to Solange and her team in the dining room and bar 💖) making the stay here very special. A great place to get away from it all. The lapping tide noise under the laguna-side bedroom balconies is amazingly restful. I don’t know how easy it is to get here without a car though…

If someone is looking for a non-commercial place, but at the same time warm, friendly and naturally composed, then this is a 100% sure choice: without the advantage of form over substance, excellent cuisine (I recommend buying the HB option, it's worth it!), very friendly staff, no crowds and full harmony with the surrounding nature. The location on the lagoon itself adds an additional touch of nature. Away from the hustle and bustle, without rushing. You may get the impression that time slows down here a bit, or maybe it flows differently?

We had a Superior Room with view and balcony onto the the Ria de Aveiro lagoon. Whilst the room was generously sized and offering comfortable accommodation the decorative condition was poor and in need of maintenance. This was particularly acute in the bathroom with bare plaster and pealing paint showing through.|This was pointed out to hotel management who explained that they were aware and that maintenance was planned at the property in the off-season.|We found bar prices very high - much cheaper to go down the road to one of the local beach-side bars. Ditto the restaurant - good, but expensive.|The breakfast buffet was very good with a good selection of fresh food provided. Perhaps more of the local Portuguese produces, such as cheese and meats could be provided?|Overall we...
