Nestled in the heart of Moinhos do Pisão, my wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at a truly enchanting house with an awe-inspiring garden. The delightful combination of meticulously manicured greenery and the warmth exuded by the owners created an unforgettable experience. Here, we share our review of this hidden gem that offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As soon as we stepped foot into the property, we were captivated by the sheer beauty of the garden and beautiful garden pond with red fishes wondering around. The landscape was a harmonious blend of vibrant colors, fragrant flowers, and lush greenery. It was evident that the owners had poured their hearts and souls into creating this true botanical paradise. Every corner of the garden revealed a new delight, with charming paths winding through blossoming flowerbeds and inviting seating areas tucked away beneath the shade of towering trees. It was an absolute pleasure to explore this oasis of tranquility. In addition to the breathtaking surroundings, the owners, Fernando and Edith, of this marvelous property truly made the experience unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us with open arms and made us feel like an honored guest. Ah, their breakfasts… Their warmth and genuine hospitality were evident in every interaction. They took the time to share their passion of Moinhos do Pisão and the area, showing us best places to eat, to fish and have amazing spa experience. Their knowledge and enthusiasm were infectious, and we felt inspired to cultivate our own green thumb, looking for the properties in the area to buy, to mimic this experience, which will...
Read moreI don't know where to start. The structure is made of several little houses spread around a tiny rustic village. It is definitely quiet. The house we got was fine in size and furnishings, but had untreated spots of mold all around. Basic kitchen tools, dishes, etc.. are provided but be careful, we found the greasy fingerprints of whoever was there before all over them (=nobody checked before our arrival). Also there was a cup on the counter with coffee pods and tea bags, and a dead bug at the bottom of it. Disgusting. The pool is fine, in a cute garden, but you'll have to walk outside the structure, all across village to get there. When we arrived nobody checked our documents, I'm not even sure this is legal. Breakfast is poor and the only quality ingredient is the bread. On the 3rd morning they forgot to provide the jam, basically depriving us of the only sweet breakfast option available. There is no place where you can go to talk to the host, only way is via WhatsApp. Hosts are in our opinion unprepared and unprofessional. There is no dedicated parking, you'll park wherever you find a spot around the village. The whole thing was so bad we left one...
Read moreWe stayed here one night last month. The owners have been renovating old or abandoned properties in this tiny village for the past few years. The unit where we stayed, and others we saw, have separate sitting rooms, bedrooms, and kitchens, very attractively renovated. There is an area with a pool, gardens, and outdoor public space near some of the cottage, and the owner was also in the process of renovating a ruined farm building as a small wine bar. An ample breakfast is delivered to your unit in the morning. There are several wineries nearby; one nearby in Santar was closed for a private event, so we ended up going to a more commercial one in Nelas, but had a fantastic tour and dinner there (Pedra Cancela).||||I'd highly recommend this location, especially if you might want to stay longer and self-cater part...
