This is quite of a tough review for me to write. The location was absolutely amazing and the property is beautiful. However, there were a few things which spoiled the whole experience. The worst part in all this is that after I left a review somewhere else, the owner came forward with lies which can easily be verified online.||||Rooms:||The rooms are lovely, but there was little love being put into them. It’s quite hard to explain, but we stayed in similar places before, and there were small details which added character to the room. In addition, it seemed that there was some refurbishing being needed. Our shower, had the shower hose completely broken, and for 160 euros a night, this is something which should never happen. ||||Coffee and other amenities:||There was coffee in the room, but for a fee. Some places which costed 3x less than this one, offered free coffee. However, here they asked for 1 euro for crappy capsule coffee. Also for breakfast, which was amazing btw, there was only the most awful machine made instant coffee, I have ever had in my life. I've added a photo showing the cost for a coffee in that machine. After staying there, the owner stated that there were 2 machines and that one was free, but that is not true and it makes no sense at all.||||Common areas and nature/spa feeling:||Also, we had the most gorgeous view of the Alentejo plains, completely spoiled by loud music, with a repertoire ranging from the God Father soundtrack to some other weird music. The name of this place has Natura in it, so should you muffle all the nature sounds with this? The owner later told us that they were playing Christmas music, which again is untrue. We could even hear it in the morning from our room, which spoils the relaxing experience.||||Jacuzzi:||Finally the jacuzzi. It was unusable. It took about 1h to fill, given that there was almost no water pressure, and when we used it, it was so loud that we felt bad for our neighbours. Check online and a lot of people mention the same. Not to talk about the brown water coming from the tap.||||Conclusion:||It was a gigantic disappointment, given that we wanted a proper SPA experience, and a proper borderline luxury experience. A few days later we stayed in a place where we paid 50 euros a night, and it felt much more luxurious and pleasant than this so called SPA. My advice is to refurbish the rooms a bit, remove the awful mini bar, offer at least free coffee, and fix the jacuzzi thing because it’s absolutely unusable. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back.||||Honestly, the experience was mostly ruined by the owner who is clearly only doing this for the money. The staff during breakfast was extremely kind and nice, but it is indeed a pity that one person can ruin what has a lot of potential for being an awesome experience. The whole place is a mess, expensive, and not at all what you see in the photos. Probably this only happens in the cheaper rooms, but then if this is the case, try to only have super expensive and higher...

Edit: Unfortunately the owner’s reply is full of inaccuracies. Instead of spending energy commenting online, please channel it into making the place a tiny bit better.
1- coffee isn’t free as anyone can see on the attached photo. Nestle or not but it was still instant coffee and quite bad. 2- music from the god father soundtrack can hardly pass as Christmas music. No Bublé or Sinatra which I would have appreciated. Also it was loud enough for me to hear it from the room. 3- sharing the dates I’ve been there for isn’t allowed according to GDPR laws. 4- there are plenty of comments on the...
Read moreThe incredible outdoor space at this herdade and spa far exceeded our expectations. The large hill/mountain landscape, coupled with the facility’s amazing gardens, made this a place we will always remember. |The included breakfast was a nice bonus. Served on a patio overlooking the hills and blue tiled pools, guests are offered a nice array of choices. When we arrived in the morning, the staff knew who we were without asking and appeared with the food (ordered the night before) soon after we sat down every day. They also cleaned our room at that time — like magic. It was a nice touch.|The pools are clean and a great hang out if you want to do that, rather than head to the many gorgeous beaches within a reasonable drive. The jacuzzi is part of the spa, so there was a 25 euro fee for use. We did that and felt it was worth it. |The location is perfect. It is remote enough but only 9 kilometers to the heart of Vila Nova de Milfontes, a lovely resort/beach town south of Lisbon and north of the Algarve. The town’s restaurants were both good and abundant. In the evening, we could hear the sound of cowbells — in the morning the sounds of cuckoos and the bray of the resident donkey.|Then why did I give this 4 stars rather than 5? Our outdoor spa room was fine but a bit worn and not the luxurious experience we were hoping for. There were nice robes but no bath or skin products provided at all—none for the tub and only affixed bottles of bath gel next to the tub and sink. Also, we were seeking quiet privacy but the patio divider separating us from the room next door was open at the top and we heard multiple loud phone conversations, as our neighbors blared music and sang along as they splashed in their hot tub. |If I could, I’d give the outdoor area a 6 and the room a 3.5. We definitely would return, but if we do, we’ll know to bring our own...
