Herdade do Freixial — Hotel in Odemira

We stayed as a family of 9 in 2 apartments and 2 rooms for 6 nights. It was the 4th year that we stayed in the region in locations on the upper end of the spectrum (approx. 270€ per night/room). Our expectations were high due to the great website and the price we paid for it.||Overall we were quite disappointed with our stay, as the experience did not match what was announced. Being fair, some aspects were positive:|- The location – close to Vila Nova de Mil Fontes, services, restaurants and beaches.|- The view and balance with the surrounding nature.|- The friendliness and diligence of the staff.|- The swimming pool layout.|- The breakfast.||Unfortunately these did not make up for the rest. We were frustrated by several negative points:|- Facilities in overall poor condition and degraded, some posing risks to customers (example: stairs with broken boards and loose screws and full of splinters).|- Treehouse space inoperative and destroyed.|- Most of the grass dried and arid.|- Rooms with furniture needing repairs, and one incident with water leak in one bathroom.|- Low standard for the cleaning service, only doing the bed and not vacuuming properly the rooms.|- One incident with cockroaches in one of the bathrooms with rotten furniture under the sink.|- Multiple services unavailable - poolside bar permanently closed, no yoga classes, no food delivery service by surrounding restaurants.||We complained to the management and they were quite receptive to our criticism, and we were reimbursed in 10%, promosing us that they would work on all the points above. ||We were told that they were operating since 2010, and the biggest problem of this property is that the Website is showing it during its glory days, more than a decade ago. We felt deceived, as there is a blatant desinvestment in maintenance and services by the management at the expense of the customer. We paid premium, and we were expecting premium; instead we got below average standards which you can find for a third of the price.||I really hope they can turn it around for the survival of their business and the friendly staff who are...

Nous avions via une agence de voyage très connues en France (VDM) réservé un appartement pour 6 jours a Herdade do Freixia avec deux chambres et une belle vue.||Nous avons été accueillies par une dame fort sympathique au départ parlant un peu français et qui nous a fait le Check in et nous a emmene ensuite dans notre chambre (qui était en train d'être faire a 17h!!!) nous avons donc du attendre dehors! Et notre hôte n'en a pas profite pour nous offrir qque chose a boire ou nous faire découvrir les lieux!||Pour continuer notre mésaventure L'appartement attribue s'est avéré ne pas correspondre a notre réservation : deux chambres : nous en avions qu'une avec comme deuxiele couchage un vieux canapé lit dans le salon (complètement détruit! Et ne se fermant plus!!!! ) et dans le salon une lumière sortie de secours restant allumée tout le temps!!!! Un vrai bonheur||La spécificité avec vue s'est aussi transformée en vue sur le parking d'un||Cote et de l'autre une nouvelle rangee d'appartements a 2m de distances....notre terrasse donnait donc sur une sorte de couloir a l'air libre correspondant a l'entrée des autres appartements.||Avant de nous installer nous sommes retournés voir notre hôte pour lui indiquer que cela ne semblait pas correspondre a notre réservation celle ci nous a certifié qu'elle n'avait rien d'autre et que c'était ainsi !||Nous avons arrête de voir avec elle et sommes passés avec notre agence qui au bout de trois jours nous a relogé ailleurs. Mais pendant ces trois jours et lors du Check out nous n'avons pas une seule fois eu un mot agréable de la part du staff ce qui nous aurait sûrement aide a mieux accepter ce désagrément et les 3 horribles nuits passées dans le canape lit ||||Pour le reste la vue depuis la piscine est splendide ||La piscine est un peu petite mais acceptable surtout que lorsque nous y sommes allés il n'y avait personne (au contraire du jaccuzzi qui est plein tout le temps). Un point un peu négatif : l'eau du jaccuzzi se déverse dans la piscine qui elle même se déverse dans la pataugeoire des enfants! En terme d'hygiène ce n'est pas top!||Le petit dej est simple pas de possibilité de le prendre dehors si vous êtes plus que deux ce qui est dommage. Un matin nous avons du attendre 15mn pour avoir une table. Pas d'oeuf a dispo du pain et des viennoiseries industrielles par contre jus d'orange frais a discression. ||||Enfin au mois d'août il y a bcp de famille avec enfants ce qui rend tout de suite tout très bruyants! Et l'insonorisation entre les appartements n'est pas très bonne||||En conclusion cela aurait pu être un séjour simple et sympathique si pas ce problème d'appartement mais nous déconseillons car l'équipe ne nous a pas accompagnée dans cette mésaventure et globalement la structure ne nous semble pas appropriée en terme de logistique lorsque tous les appartements sont...

What a find! Very rural, but the rooms take full advantage of the views to make it worthwhile to visit. Stunning vistas, overlooking the valley and the verd countryside. We had one of the apartments; a little kitchenette, longe area, bathroom and bedroom. There was also a small balcony with bbq and table outside. The design of the place is one that would send instagrammers into a frenzy of selfies. Just beautiful and rustic. Further down the hill was a swimming pool and jacuzzi which were divine in the heat. Breakfast in the morning was extra but worth it. A huge spread with everything from 4 kinds of bread to crepes and spreads. We both really enjoyed using the place as a base to explore the area and would definitely stay...
