Monte Flora Farmhouse — Hotel in Ourique

I stayed here in June 2019 and had a wonderful time. The bungalow had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay - and the pool was pure delight. I can't describe how magical it was swimming in a natural pond with wildlife. The views are far reaching countryside on all sides and the silence (aside from the lovely frogs at night) is breathtaking. You will need to hire a car, and have a good Satnav, to get around. The neighbourhood is not at all touristy so if you're looking for a lively holiday with lots to do on the doorstep you may need to look elsewhere. But if, like me, you're looking for peace and quiet but with good access to shops & restaurants (half an hour's drive) then this is the place. The hosts were perfect too. Monte Flora was awesome 🙏🏼 Checking in is a breeze with the instructions. You get there and it’s a nice house, two bedrooms, nice and cozy living area and a kitchen equipped with pretty much everything you need. There’s a beautiful deck outside with nice furniture to watch the sunsets in this beautiful Alentejo view. Adorámos a experiência! Devido ao contexto de pandemia decidimos fazer umas férias mais recatadas e isoladas do mundo. O Monte Flora foi uma ótima decisão. A casa está bem equipada de utensílios, preparada para receber crianças e o espaço envolvente é maravilhoso. Pequenos almoços no alpendre, churrascos e caipirinhas, uma bela paisagem e piscina biológica muito cuidada. Os proprietários são simpáticos e respeitam bastante a nossa privacidade. Fomos com outro casal amigo e, por isso, alugámos a habitação (casa coelho) e o quarto extra com wc. O único senão foi um problema com a água quente no duche do quarto extra que parecia ser fácil de resolver mas que não chegou a ser ultrapassado (na verdade nós também não voltámos a informar que não tinha ficado resolvido). Foi um pequeno senão mas que certamente os proprietários conseguirão resolver em breve. Quem gosta de relaxar e desfrutar da natureza num monte alentejano, certamente vai gostar! Esperamos...
