OLA Guesthouse — Hotel in Ovar

We came to Portugal all the way from Poland and this is the best place we stayed in this country. We honestly recommend the stay for many reasons, I think I will start with rooms :)

Our room was perfectly clean and smells amazing, towels and hair dryer were provided, the bathroom looks brand new. Kitchen is big and you can cook whatever you like because everything is there.

Bicycles and yoga - Guesthouse owners can provide so many activities that there is no way you can be bored. We wanted to try yoga and took classes run by Ola, it was something new for us but we had great fun! On the other day we rented their bikes and went on bicycle trip with both owners (Ola and Alessandro), it was pretty amazing and funny! They showed us the best paths and it was perfect.

We are not surfing so we didn’t try that activity, but I saw lots of surfing photos on walls and I suppose maybe next year when we come back we can try :)

Food - Ola took us to the local food market where we could try the best croissants we have ever tried in our life, totally recommend that attraction:) In guest house we could make tea coffee and cook freely.

We are in love with blue and white colors in the house and garden, everything looks so cosy and neat, me and my husband just feel happy spending our holiday in such a beautiful place.

Best guesthouse north of the equator. I mean it... if there was one place the five star review was intended for, this would be it.

A friend has told me about how awesome the two hosts Ola and Alessandro are and how I definitely need to go there to check out the waves. And what an understatement that was. With the rented bike, you can check like 10 different breaks within just a few minutes, about 6 of which are within 1-5 minutes walking distance from the house. If the waves are firing somewhere else, the two hosts are also avid surfers who know the area like the back of their hands. A quick drive there and you'll have the time of your life with only positive vibes in the water.

About the house itsself there's really nothing that wasn't very good. Perfectly clean on arrival, comfy beds, different rooms to get some privacy for a businesscall, dishwasher (!), wifi is strong, pool is cared for, there's infrastructure to keep your wetsuits and boards safe, a wintergarden for the colder nights without missing the sunset... like honestly I could go on forever. This house checks all the boxes.

The owners, these two amazing human beings, have created a space in which your vacations can unfold the way you want them to. Through a lot of mutual respect and shared experiences I can even call them friends now. Thank you Ale and Ola for two amazing weeks. I hope to be back soon. 🙏🏼 ❤

Such a gem during our euro trip! The owners are the kindest and most friendly hosts, every step of the way was taken care of by them, and they would go out of their way to cater to our needs. For example, we didn’t know where to eat and were kinda anxious to order in our non-existing Portuguese, so they took their bikes and came back with amazing Piri-Piri chicken and braised ribs for us, recommended the best restaurants and took us there twice themselves. The highlight was the Italian homemade pizza night over beers and local wine in their place. They also provided surf lessons to my 6-yo daughter and several adult beginners in our group. All boards and wetsuits provided at top quality and condition, driven to every beach with good waves according to that day and time. House is clean, cozy, thoughtfully decorated and all you can think of you’ll need was provided. Pool was kept clean, garden green, barbecue place awaited with coal and chopped wood. All meals super affordable and good quality. All services were amazing. A must-go for both the authentic town, house...
