Hotel de Charme Quinta do Pinheiro — Hotel in Paços de Ferreira

My husband and I are based in the UK but got married here a year ago and had an amazing wedding. The location was great for us as we had many guests flying in from the UK and it's only about 30 minutes away from Porto. The venue offers a number of packages for weddings and this meant that not only was all the food and drink included, but they also took care of the decorations, DJ and even included our wedding cake. This was perfect for us as whilst we chose to get married abroad, having these elements taken care of and designed exactly how we wanted, made it really easy for us, particularly as we are based out of the country and don't speak Portuguese.

The venue itself is large and there a number of locations for the ceremony and reception, depending on guest numbers and the weather. We decided to host a meal for our guests the night before the wedding, which the venue was able to accommodate for us.

On our wedding day itself, the tables were beautifully decorated by Teresa, and we had the opportunity to meet with her beforehand and give our input.

The food was incredible. We had canapes/ starters straight after the ceremony that were delicious, including freshly carved meat and fantastic seafood. The sit down meal later in the day was some of the best food we've ever had and the staff made sure no one went hungry. It was a real feast and we had so many compliments from our guests about the quality of the food.

The staff worked seamlessly to accomodate the band we selected and the fireworks in the evening were a real highlight, particularly as this is not a typical thing at a UK wedding.

However, the thing that makes this place really special is the people. Every single member of staff went out of their way to make sure we had the perfect day. The dedication and kindness that everyone showed us was overwhelming and we will never forget it. So thank you to Mrs Carla, Claudia, Sofia and the whole team at Hotel de Charme Quinta do Pinheiro for making our day so special. It's a become a really special place to use and we hope to return many times...

The hotel is magnificent with its rural scenario. I booked a Saint Valentine's Dinner for two. The experience was good. The ambient was very romantic, ladies were given a red rose at the entrance, and the food was average. ||||We could have dinner at any time between 8pm and 10.30pm. Nevertheless, no one told us that if we decided to have dinner at 9.30, most the food could bee cold. In fact, when we arrived, most of the couples (mostly 40/50 years old) had already finished their meals, and one member of the staff told us that we should probably came up earlier. And that wasn't a nice thing to say as we arrived in the middle of the serving time.|||| To sum up, it is a place worth visiting, the restaurant is beautiful, but the value for money, particularly in special occasions...

Uma quinta com 80 héctares que foram para nós uma fantástica e agradável surpresa!||Fomos para um casamento de uns amigos e acabamos por ficar mais uma noite. ||Começando pelo princípio...||Não falta estacionamento! Não faltam espaços verdes! Não faltam espaços magnificos para tudo o que um casamento precisa! Começamos por uma sala ampla magnífica, com um jardim exterior ainda melhor... De lá passámos para outra grande zona de música e onde pudemos desfrutar de um cocktail. Por fim, já noite dentro, passsámos para a sala ampla onde viria a ser servida a refeição! sala ampla, muito bem decorada (ok, eu sei que esta parte tem também a ver com o gosto e opção dos noivos, mas fazia sentido referir).||||Já depois do jantar e uma vez que decidimos ficar alojados para o dia seguinte...||Fomos à recepção fazer o check-in e, para surpresa nossa que achávamos que já conheciamos a quinta, deparamo-nos com todo um conjunto de supresas:|| - Edíficio magnífico, em pedra, rústico, com imensos detalhes, adereços e decoração antigos;||- Vária informação sobre outras atividades e locais a visitar;||- Extrema simpatia da rececionista||- Levou-nos ao quarto, que ficava num edifício separado (explicou-nos que aquele edifício era ótimo para grupo de amigos - 7 quartos e uma sala ampla comum)||- O quarto apesar de não ser muito grande tinha tudo o que era necessário e muito bem decorado. Cama King size, ar condicionado, tv, casa de banho devidamente equipado, enfim... que mais pedir.||||No dia seguinte, aproveitámos a conhecer um pouco mais da quinta:||- Pequeno almoço continental muito bom, que inclui champanhe (surreal)!||- Piscina agradável, com boas espreguiçadeiras e até uma fantástica cama de rede onde podemos ficar um pouco a saborear a natureza que nos rodeava.||- Campo de ténis, campo de golfe gigante...||||Em suma! Tudo o que se pretende para um fim de semana agradável, ideal para descansar e ao preço da...
