We had the absolute joy and privilege of being hosted by the breathtaking Humus Farm this past weekend for my sister’s wedding, and I truly cannot put into words how extraordinary the entire experience was!

From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a dream!

This was the first all-vegan wedding I’ve ever attended, and every single element—from the food to the seamless service—was perfection. The fact that the majority of guests weren’t vegan and still couldn't stop raving about the food speaks volumes!

The venue itself is simply stunning—rustic, elegant, and full of charm, with the beauty of nature all around you, and a pool!

The accommodation was cozy, and beautifully thought out, creating such a welcoming atmosphere! Anna and Bruno are impeccable hosts! Their warmth, attentiveness, and passion for what they do radiate through every detail. They, along with their phenomenal team, brought this wedding to life in a way that surpassed all expectations: The level of organisation, the thoughtful, personal touches, the incredible local wines and organic food, the suitability ethos throughout the venue and the adorable pets and farm animals- everything was infused with heart and care. This has genuinely been one of the most beautiful, meaningful, and memorable weddings I’ve ever had the honour of attending. Ana, the hostess, is an extremely friendly and hospitable lady who went out of her way to make sure we had a comfortable stay. We asked for breakfast every day and it was no trouble at all. Sober but tasty and fresh.

The Humus Farm also offers some 'experiences' where we chose to participate in Friday Pizza night. Fresh pizza with their homemade dough, greens from their vegetable garden and local produce. Rich and exceptionally delicious.

We very deliberately chose accommodation rather remote to make the most of the peace and quiet. This location, in Fernando Po, gave us exactly what we needed to unwind for 5 days. In an hour you are in beautiful Évora or one of the secluded beaches next to Setubal. Alcácer do Sal is also worth spending about 2 hours and is about a 30-minute drive away. Other than that, we obviously just enjoyed the estate and the pool.

We had the 2 person accommodation and had more than enough space with this. You have everything you need to cook for yourself and if you do miss or need something you can just ask Ana, which we did when we needed a slightly bigger pot. The only thing which might need a little upgrade is the shower. The shower head is quite small and due to erosion there's s not a firm water jet coming through.

In short, a stay we look back on with pleasure and can only recommend it to anyone who's looking for a quiet, organic and peaceful location.

Estive na Húmus Farm em Setembro por ocasião de um casamento. Gostei muito do espaço, simpático, bem cuidado, despretensioso e de ambiente campestre/rural.|Os donos são simpáticos e acessíveis mas vê -se que não têm experiência em organizar este tipo de eventos. Talvez para estadias em contexto de passeio e descanso a quinta funcione melhor.|O dia estava organizado com a cerimónia na beira da piscina, seguida de aperitivos ao ar livre, almoço sentado e jantar ao ar livre com churrasco e arraial.|Os alojamentos que foram utilizados por noivos e convidados eram ótimos e acolhedores.|A cerimónia foi muito bonita e as entradas que se seguiram foram ótimas, em quantidade adequada e tudo bem organizado.|O almoço, que incluía prato de peixe e carne, servido em regime de buffet, foi onde começaram os problemas.|A qualidade dos pratos era boa e bem confeccionada, mas a quantidade ridiculamente insuficiente. Quem colocou no prato o peixe e a carne ao mesmo tempo, conseguiu provar tudo. Quem, como é normal, se foi servir de peixe e só depois foi procurar provar a carne, não tinha já nada nos tabuleiros.|A dona do espaço, em jeito de justificação, referiu que haveria mais carne ao jantar!|Ao jantar, havia um churrasco simpático e sopa regional.|Mais uma vez a qualidade boa mas insuficiente. A sopa não sei se deu para metade dos convidados, o que me parece inadmissível. Não pode faltar comida num casamento, nunca! |Quando chegou a hora de partir o bolo dos noivos, foram distribuídos uns pauzinhos 🥢 para acender e fazer faísca e foi colocado um pequeno fogareiro com carvão a arder num local de passagem, sem uma explicação prévia do que iria acontecer e sem organização nenhuma. Havia crianças no local e alguém se podia queimar. Depois, em vez de solicitar aos convidados que se posicionassem por exemplo em duas filas, disseram que fosse toda a gente acender os pauzinhos no fogareiro para criar um efeito luminoso no momento de partir o bolo.|As pessoas estavam muito aglomeradas e honestamente tive receio que alguém se queimasse ou saltasse alguma faísca para a roupa de alguém.|A ideia pode funcionar mas tem de ser de forma organizada e NUNCA colocar um fogareiro a arder, pequeno e baixinho, num local de passagem.|De resto, a decoração estava simples e bonita, rústica e de bom gosto.|O espaço tem muitas potencialidades, mas os donos têm de perceber que devem formar-se melhor para este tipo de eventos. Há ainda um longo caminho de melhorias para percorrer.|Quem optar por este espaço, que apesar de tudo recomendo, deve pedir especial atenção com o menu e o equilíbrio entre o número de pessoas convidadas e a quantidade de comida disponível, a qual não pode faltar. Bebida nunca faltou. Cuidar ainda com especial atenção das atividades lúdicas de forma segura, organizada e anunciada, para que todos percebam o que fazer e não se criem...
