Quinta da Pitarrela — Hotel in Peso da Régua

Our stay at Quinta da Pitarrela was wonderful. The views were amazing, surrounded by vineyards. We stayed in Casa Rosa and our rooms were private, comfortable, and very clean. The bathrooms were modern, and we had our own private kitchen with bathroom just a short walk up the road that came with meat, cheese, milk, coffee, and juice – what a special touch! Every morning, we had delicious fresh bread delivered to our door which was a real treat. The small pool was refreshing and relaxing and we spent a lot of time on the patio reading, drinking wine, and soaking in the scenery. Our hosts Sonia and Tiago were so friendly and helpful They recommended several different outings that we enjoyed, including a trip to the Museu do Douro which is both a history and art museum (and included a sample of port wine at the end of our visit!) They also helped set up a taxi drive to the town of Pinhão for a boat tour of the Douro River, which was spectacular. We can’t wait to go back and would recommend this beautiful...

We stayed in this beautiful home with another family for 2 nights while we explored the Douro valley area. The home is spotlessly clean, well furnished and has a fabulous view and pool area. The owner lives next door and so is available if you need anything. She left ham, cheese, jam and butter for us in the fridge and you have fresh bread delivered daily at no extra cost. This is a property I could have stayed at week at very easily. There is a small suite next to the house and guests can use the pool area (not the covered deck, patio or other areas) and I think for those guests it must feel weird to walk through the deck of the other guests and then try and join them in the pool. However, there is more than enough room to go around. I highly recommend staying here.
