Luxury Chaves Village — Hotel in Ponta Delgada

When we arrived in Sao Miguel I messaged the person I was dealing with when I booked only to get no response. We arrived at the house and the code given us for the key didn't work. I called the number listed in Booking.com and was given a new code. No one met us at the house to greet us. I have booked numerous places in Sao Miguel and 9 out of 10 times we were greeted. On day 1 we saw the review that previous guests were robbed. I personally went through all the doors and windows to make sure they were locked. All the locks were flimsy and if anyone wanted to break-in they could. I called the number I had called when we arrived to let them know that an exterior door did not lock. I was told that no one was going to enter the house. When I told him that I knew the house was broken into I simply got "Oh, I'll make a call to get it fixed and will message you back." This was the last time they answered my calls. The issue with the door was never addressed. We used chairs as security features on the sliders. I messaged and called several times about the washer that wasn't working. I finally received message that they would have someone look at it. They had a technician come to the house when no one was there. After 7 days we also arrived at the house to find the cleaning crew in the house. We were never told that would happen. Communication was horrible. The hot tub was not usable since it didn't hold water. The day before we left someone just showed up in the back to measure for a new hot tub. Also listed in the booking was a ping pong table. When the cleaning crew came after 7 days we saw that it had been locked up in the garage where we didn't have access to it. We were robbed while staying at this rental. Many windows and doors on both levels don't fully close and many locks on windows and doors don't lock. Anyone can jump the gate and come in. At first we were unsure who to talk to as first host said she doesn't work there anymore. Second host, Raul, came by but ultimately said nothing he can do.
