Marias Haven — Hotel in Ponta Delgada

We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay! It would be impossible to find a more pleasant, caring and helpful host than Maria. The four of us stayed for a week in the larger house which has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 sitting rooms and a well stocked kitchen. Everything you could possibly need is provided. The house is spotless and the property is meticulously maintained. There is a large patio area out front and a large back yard with a firepit, several seating areas, a grill and large picnic table. From the grill area you can see the ocean and the hilly farm fields to the rear and side of the property. San Antonio is a nice little village easily reached from Ponta Delgada. It has a church, small store (which has just about anything you may need), a café, and a small bar. By staying here, you are immersed in the Azorean culture which is a wonderful experience! Maria is extremely knowledgeable and will provide you with anything you need to know about the island (which is absolutely beautiful) and its culture. I was just reminiscing and going through some pictures and thought I would submit this review on Maria’s Haven. We had the pleasure of staying at this location in August and I must say we were more than pleased.

"Maria's Haven in the town of Santo Antonio, Sao Miguel, Azores is an absolute gem! The moment we arrived, we were captivated by the breathtaking view of the coastline from the cozy patio. The yard provided a tranquil oasis, perfect for morning coffee or evening stargazing. The barbecue area was a fantastic addition, allowing us to savor delicious grilled meals while soaking in the stunning surroundings.

Both Maria and Agostinho’s attention to detail truly shines through in every aspect of the property. The amenities provided exceeded our expectations, from the plush bedding to the well-equipped kitchen. Their warm hospitality made us feel like old friends, and her genuine care for our comfort ensured a truly memorable stay. We can't wait to return to Maria's Haven for another...

This was hands down one of the BEST stays of my life. If you’re even thinking about booking this place — stop overthinking and just do it. You’ll thank me later!
