A Wonderful Gem for Exploring the Minho Region! My wife and I have just returned from a truly delightful week-long stay at the Encosta do Monte, and we couldn't recommend it more highly This charming hotel is a perfect find. While it's compact, it's beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean, offering everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The best part? The incredible value – it felt like far more than we paid for. The heart and soul of the hotel is undoubtedly Maria. Running it as a warm family business, she seems to handle everything with grace and genuine care. She's a wonderful host – welcoming, attentive, and always ready to offer advice or a friendly chat. Her personal touch made us feel right at home and was a highlight of our trip. A quick note on location: if your main goal is to walk directly into the very center of Ponte de Lima town, it's a bit of a distance. However, if you're planning to explore the stunning Minho region by car (which we highly recommend!), the location is absolutely ideal. You have immediate access to the motorways crisscrossing the area, making day trips to Viana do Castelo, Braga, Guimarães, the Lima Valley, and the coast incredibly easy and efficient. It's a perfect, peaceful base for regional adventures. Finally, the buffet breakfast deserves a special mention! It was excellent, with a great variety of fresh and tasty options. Even though it’s not directly in Ponte de Lima, I stayed here during my Camino – and I couldn’t have chosen a better place. The owner herself picked me up in the city, so I didn’t have to walk any further. From the very first moment, I felt comfortable and welcome at the hotel. High-quality furnishings, absolute cleanliness, and a certain feeling of coming home.

We stayed here one night at the start of our road trip. The room was very clean and cozy. There is plenty of parking at the back of the inn. It's an easy 5 minute drive to the free parking lot in the town center. Breakfast was hearty with a variety of pastries, bread, cereals, cheese, meats, yogurt, bread, fruit, fresh juices and a delicious cake I couldn't get enough of!
