PROS||- Check-in and check-out: fast friendly and efficient||- General cleanness: just perfect||- Towels in the bathroom: sufficient in number and size||- Shower water temperature: constant and easy to setup||- Air conditioner in the bedroom: efficient, easy to setup and silent||- Internet available: free and reasonable speed in whole hotel||- Decoration and room size: simple and not huge, but for a 2 stars hotel was very good indeed ||- Location: very close to river and marina. Also there's a public swimming pool just a few minutes walk away, that can be vey good to relax. Read moreWe booked this hotel for a 1-night stay in Resende. Public parking (free) is available nearby. The hotel itself was very clean, we had a new room with a well functioning airco. The breakfast was extremely limited (croissants, bread & coffee), but the food itself was tasty.||Some warnings however:||1) Enter the postal code on your GPS instead of the town-name. Nearby is a town which has the same name, so it is easy to get lost. The locals barely speak English or French, so if you end up in the wrong town (unfortunately like us), you are on your own.||2) The receptionist and owner only know a few words in English, French is not much better. They are friendly however.||3) There is literally nothing to do in this town. There is however one restaurant (the only one by the way which was open during our visit in September) which serves stunning food at great prices...
Read moreWe planned to stay one night here, but ended up extending our stay so that we could take advantage of the ferry (just across the street) to cross the river where we hopped onto the train and rode along the river to Regua. We had a wonderful lunch there and wandered around a bit and then reversed our trip. Beautiful! The village surrounding this hotel (which is brand new and very comfortable, by the way) is cool to wander around in as well - we walked around and admired the olive groves and pigs. We didn't take advantage of it, but there's a mineral spa just across the street...
