It was a last minute booking for a holiday in Portugal in mid October 2016. We were delighted to find that we had found such an ideal villa, it was just what we wanted. As it was 'off the beaten track' and would have been very difficult to find, Maria and José met us at the railway station and we followed them to the villa. It was late when we arrived. They brought us some food and a very nice bottle of wine, (we liked it so much we bought another 4 bottles). We were delighted with how they had tastefully restored the building. A nice touch was that all the towels, sheets, fabrics etc., all had the MCB monogram. Three large bedrooms and two bathrooms. Kitchen (with everything). Very large lounge with open fire. Outside was really quite amazing. A large well protected covered terraces, perfect for the evening soirees. Small pool with loungers. BBQ. The view from around the villa was uninterrupted with views across the cork oak grasslands. Big enough for the large oak tree that is growing the middle of it. Certainly suitable for a wedding venue (or a circus?) Numerous beaches on the west coast to visit, approx. 20-30Km away. north and south of Sines. Roman ruins at Santiago de Carcem is a must to visit. Thoroughly recommended. Perfect for families, with beds...
